Be aware if swapping engines. Your Hydrive transmission needs a Hydrive compatible engine, because of the engine oil supply to the trans.

I have recently installed a heater in the DeSoto. I picked it up in a second hand shop. I bought a new brass heater tap, which is pull for on. I used the old choke cable to operate it. I had an old heater fan switch in my stash, it is off/on and variable fan speed. Works really well.

On the question of ice cubes in your wine. Use frozen grapes instead, they don't water the wine down.

Recently had my grandson lay some vinyl wrap on the car. Colour is Ivory. I reckon it looks great.

I recently did the Slant Six Electronic Dissy conversion. It is in the car and working great.

I did this conversion to a 1952 Dodge I used to own. Ran with the electronic dissy for about 2 years, then sold the car. I have since bought a 1955 DeSoto, and after having to pull the dissy to check the points I will be doing the conversion sooner rather than later. I have a slant electronic dissy and a spare flatty dissy. Also have a Bosch BIM024 controller, so will not need to spend a penny.

Today I attended the Chrysler Restorers Foundation Day Lunch. Some of the cars there. And really nice work on the cake. 300Km round trip and the DeSoto ran great.

Took the DeSoto to the Bowls Club for the first time today. Got a lot of nice compliments about it. Then getting fuel after, the young bloke behind the counter said "nice car sir".
