  1. Leg is pretty much healed, not to get strength back. I should get the suburban legal for a daily driver. Doing mechanical first then cosmetic.

  2. So glad to find you. I will need two temp gauges repaired, where do I send them and at what price for each?  Happy New Yearl. Pauil

  3. I have an R11. What is required to put it behind my 218 engine.

The OD itself is the same over all brands.  But the transmission case must match the engine.   I think yours is a Ford version.   really difficult to adapt that input shaft and trans case to a mopar clutch housing.

I've never tried it nor seen anyone else try.  Just to many hurdles to clear.   Better to find one intended for a Mopar, but they will be R10 versions.  I've heard rumors that some r11 models were used in the very late 50s in bigger cars, but have never seen one.

I got it free, don’t know where, so will make a small amount for iron.

  4. Happy New Year. How is your health.,  Any progress on the feet / hands issue?  I’m still lying very low with a lingering head cold. It will warn up in about 30 days and will get more active then.  Lyme still lingers.

I have neuropathy.  They are still doing tests to see if it can be treated or not.

That’s no good. Sure hope there is help. Its foggy and cold here, so I’m just laying low until it warms up.

This week is suppose to be mostly low 30's.  Which is good for here.

  5. So, headed out too huntmoose?

leaving on Tuesday.  It's been raining everyday for a week here.  Hard to get things together.  Did manage to go out last week and sight the rifle in to make sure it hits where I want it to.

  6. Do joy still have snow?

Yeah, it usually takes me a week to clean up all the dog poop that accumulates over the winter in the snowbanks, once the snow melts.  At least she (a German shepherd) doesn't do her business in the trails I keep clear.  I'd be up to go visit once you'uns get settled in and once I can get a COVID vaccine (not "old enough" right now).  They are projecting things to be settled down quite a bit around May.  Maine has done a comparatively good job around the pandemic.

I will keep you informed. May I suggest a tour of the woods in your area, unique items, small villages, etc?  I’m more interested in the woods of Maine than the coast.  Much better authentic history.

We get our second shot on the 28th.  What do you hear about the southern border reopening?

Take care, lord willing and the creek doesn’t rise will see you this summer.

Same as the northern border, commercial and essential travel only, when they will open fully is a moving target.  I'm not privy to the benchmarks that will allow fully opening any more - retire and you become a mushroom.

I'd be up for a sojourn into the willy wags and hamlets.  Main concern is time and distance.  It's like when we were living in the southwest, traveling to places is expressed in time, not miles...but it's green...with snow.

  7. Thankyou.

  8. Sent them an email. TKS

  9. I will include the bell housing if you need it at no extra cost and swap a good single exhaust port manifold if you do not want the dual port manifold.

pflaming@mail.fresnostate.edu   Email me and I will send pictures.

  10. I had somewhat forgotten about this engineI bought it and an overdrive transmission. The T in T 124 means it once was in a  truck .but that does not preclude use in cars. Note the split manifold and the tall carburator intake mount, and the clutch  housing .

Will call when others here are awake.

  13. Day 19. Getting along fine but have had to learn how to manage pain with ice.

"hot and icy". I will be brief! I noted to my surgeon and three PT's a very, very painful band around the sides and underside just above the incision. Doc and two PT's stated that, damage was not limited to the incision track. The 3rd PT explained that to hold the leg motionless and shut off all down arteries a giant CLA M P was put to use and that clamped area healed slowly. NO KIDDiNG. So last night at midnight I did a deep massage of that pain, then even more deeply redid that massage and added Hot and ICY for lubrication. I have completed this the second time, and will continue again at sun up!! The pain has already let up by 5 or 10 percent. Just the application of locker room 101 at work. It is horrifying to realize that my age group will take to our coffins or urns the magic of applied medicine and our grandkids will suffer under the results of Omama medical theory and under the control of pain by Lobb and Lamb! Thanks to Shak, now I'm beginning to smile also!!

TKS, yes, it's a tough call. I'm going to tough this one out without the opiate, maybe a rough ride for a bit, but it won't last. I am so close to a driver Suburban and can't do anything at the present, very frustrating.

knucklecharley is one hundred percent correct. Ruth and I have been successful in her kicking it in three weeks post rod and pin in her L femur.  Charlie Stephenson

Charlie, well one week down and two to go.

  14. What rear end ratio do you have?  I changed my truck from a 4:11 to a 3:73 and I cruse at 65, can go faster if need be. To answer your question, yes higher highway speeds and a little better mpg. It does bolt in, same length as what it replaces.

  15. It always amazes me that people want to know venders when so many parts are available via an old car or two. This does not need to be an expensive hobby. I just bought a complete1939  Chrysler Royal for $1,100.00 just 30 miles from me. So many cars and so little time!

  16. Your application of this overdrive, may well have driven down the price of a MOPAR OD.  Does my sketch roughly represent what you did?

Exactly! Beautiful picture, btw. The braces on the gas tank side hang from a support that extends parallel to the frame.

My truck has a 3:73 rear axle  so the Od will give my 2nd Gear more usability and 3rd and over will be a great cruising speed with quiet Rpms.

  17. " Well said John. PP should do the same with his truck ".  If memory serves me correct, the use of "PP" has been tagged as bullying with penalties attached.

  18. I am in Reedley and have a three speed trans mission, but it is for a 218/230 six. They may be the same, I don't know.  Returning home from Maine on Wednesday.

  19. Dan, sorry to say, but can't come to Houlton this summer. Once that far, we should go to PEI, Nova Scotia, etc. We want to do that, then take the ocean ferry home. So, will try to plan that for 2018. Paul

Roger that. A friend made that ferry trip back in April, he's still raving about it, and that's when the weather wasn't all that great.  We haven't been to PEI or NS, yet, sounds like a good tour - safe travels!

  20. We are in Bath, sure would like to meet up. Be here til the 22nd.  Paul

Welcome to the east coast!  Will look at the calendar and get a date formed up.

  21. I have one maybe two.

  22.  Have you added any thing to your car to get that speed?  I'm of a strong opinion that modern drivers are afraid to put the hammer Dow and let these engines run. Gettin anxious to get mine on the road.

  23. We will be in Maine end of June for three weeks. I would love to come up for a day or two of roaming in those woods. Pflaming@mail.fresnostate.edu

Great! I haven't been to that area of Maine, and I love remote.

  25. Dave, If you have a door key lock for the american driver door, I will buy it from you. My truck goes to my daughter and I would like to have a key lock for her.

Looking forward to seeing you again.
