  1. there are different types of threads for these fittings i dont know what size they are parts maybe found at local auto parts store replacement parts for these cars may be in metric threads the fittings are supposed to be leakproof when done properly you may also find this problem with fuel lines

  3. 8-34-178screw and 8-34-179 is the nut looks like modern day equivalent may work also the red line gear lube works real well
  4. i bought master cylinder from ab the shaft would not fit ended up rebuilding old one with parts from both master cylinders
  5. i rebuilt fuel pump for 48 p-15 my book calls for pt-6 tool also if you hold the plunger up line up hook you can connect without tool look into hole a little awkward but can be done also pin 14-79-2 is known to slip out the fix uses two c clips hold pin in place

  13. the rubberized cork is usually use on valve covers oil pans thin metal to solid metal the paper would be for solid metal to solid metal also can take more torque before splitting i would say rubberized cork would be better choice if there is warpage
  14. get gasket material and make it the gasket its obsolete i was taught to put gasket glue (high tack) on part that can be removed from engine block easier to clean mating surfaces
  15. RonJ when you replace motor mounts there may need to be some readjusting of shift/tranny linkages i replaced motor mounts there is a difference the new ones are stiffer but no problem there are some threads to this

  18. found this in transmission section plymuth p15 service manual one inch is free play should not be zero pressure as the whole system works on springs i think that free play means difference in pressure when you press the pedal to contact with pressure plate

  22. looks like its 49 you should by parts book and repair manual the parts book has useful pict and info there are plenty of places to get them online happy wrenching
  23. im a fan of cranking the engine over before starting gets all the juices flowing thinking oil in passages and bearing surfaces i dont always remove the spark plugs but if engine has sat for a while i will let it crank over before letting it run
  24. there are options for the main seal original is rope there are threads to this repair
