  1. Real Purdy !
  2. With the 6 volt system make sure you have heavy battery cables. 12 volt cables can't deliver enough voltage to the starter. The D24 engine is a 48 Dodge 230 engine and rated at 20 more hp !!! than the original 38 201.
  3. My first set of wheels was home made by me in 1959 when I was 11. Then when I was 16 I spotted this car in a field and the shape still appealed to me.
  4. Starter fluid will most likely do the trick. Does for me anyway.
  5. If it's a 315 V8 it's showing on this photo of my Sweptside just behind the throttle return spring.
  6. That temp sensor tube needs to be repaired with a generic new one spliced on.
  7. Here's some on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1948-1949-1950-Dodge-B-series-pickup-truck-gauge-cluster/401755260013?hash=item5d8a7ac46d:g:-wAAAOSwHN9cmntm
  8. Thanks for reminding me. I just placed an ad in the classified business section.
  9. I had one of those on my 39 Chrysler 6
  10. I'm thinking a section of a 16d nail might just be the ticket.
  11. If the front bumper and underslung spare tire were missing during the weigh in then You could add another 150 or so pounds if you add them later.
  12. A picture's worth a thousand words. Presenting the uber rare 23" 230 spitSfire
  13. Here's what you'll find behind those freeze plugs.
  14. WAIT !!! I was able to bring the dry, chalky wood grain back to life on my 35 Dodges dash. You can see the difference in this photo what some #0000 steel wool and hot soapy water did for the wood grain. After cleaning the glove box door and coating it with clearcoat the wood graining came back to life.
  15. My 33 Plym and 35 Dodge have that combination too
  16. That sure looks like the one in my truck. The engine is a Chrysler 251.
  17. That's exactly what I did to my 52 1/2 ton about 20 years and 30,000 miles ago. The only trouble I've had was with the regulator that burned out about 15 years ago.
  18. Looks a little cheesy to me !?
  19. Old #2 and present #3
  20. Man...You'd better get some wax on that paint before it gets sun damaged !
  21. Looks like a 52 to me.
  22. What do the rear fenders, dash emblem, and the Dodge script on the front of the truck look like? 52 and 53 are very different.
  23. Yes ! It slept 3.... My wife and I.....plus a spare.
  24. I spent many an night with two different wives in this rig I built many moons ago. It was originally a 52 3/4 ton.
  25. Does someone sell a fuel pump block off plate. I can find them for Chevy and Ford but not for Mopar. I would say 2 filters are better than 1.
