1. http://www.geocities.com/p15world/oldmopar/colorchart.html Here's an old original rim and a link to the color of stripes to use. Where are you going to "buy the stripes" ? I need some too.
2. I have redone several of these trucks and the biggest reduction in noise happened with the headliner and back of cab soundproofing installation.
3. Brad, that reminds me of a time my wife and I were driving around looking for yard sales one weekend. We came upon a house with all kinds of stuff in out in the driveway and the garage door wide open. No one around so we just started looking around and digging through boxes of stuff. Wow !! we'd found a glory hole. My wife found something she wanted and went to the front door to roust someone out and make an offer. The lady of the house came out and was very upset with us. Turns out they were just cleaning out the garage and were inside for a lunch break.
4. Here's the photo of Byron's new firewall pad installed. Interesting looking heater. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/olddodges1/Pilot%20House%20Trucks/DSCF00441.jpg
5. Look here for an exploded view of the vacuum wiper linkage. Go to the bottom of the page and download the illustrations. On page 23-? you'll see it. http://www.dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/ph_parts/pilothouse.htm
6. Where can I get some of the Zero Rust stuff?
7. Byron, Send them to me at regoevans@sbcglobal.net and I'll give it a whirl. Reg
8. Can't answer that Ed. Here in Ca. it would probably be fine without the heat. Where you are might be a different story. Maybe one of these water heated ones would work better for you. PS...got the "good book" yesterday. THANKS ! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/olddodges1/MVC-007S.jpg
9. Payton, You can get the dual exhaust manifolds at http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/acartpro/product.asp?productid=148
10. I got this message from eBay after I hit the "ask seller a question" button and asked if I could send someone to have a look at the car. Dear grandpadodge (regoevans@sbcglobal.net): Our records indicate that you recently sent an email to or received an email from weesone through the eBay email system (for example, you may have sent an email to this member through Ask Seller a Question or received an email from this member through Contact eBay Member). 11. I have patterns if you want to make your own out of better materials than the Roberts one.
12. Just for fun I emailed the seller to make an appointment for my Bro.in law who lives in a neighboring town to come and inspect the car.
13. Brad, You stick your neck out and buy it......get it home with a valid title and ......I'll give you $12K cash plus shipping immediately.
14. This one is original to the truck.
15. Will this picture help Harvey?
16. Yeah...I would just go ahead and remove the drive shaft all together and service the U joints while it's out.
17. Well......The radio looks like an early 50's mopar ( maybe Plymouth) and the grill in your bottom photo came from a mid 50's Dodge truck.
18. My "Old Cars" price guide values them from between $600 to $15,500 with an average driver valued at around $4000. I always ask the seller to just tell me what the lowest amount is he'll take and then make my decision from there.
19. 523B3108, Here's what my working wiper arms on my 52 look like.
20. What year is it? I'll look it up in my old car value guide.
21. I thought maybe this was happening with mine because all the wiring is original and may have lost some of it's conductivity. Corrosion is maybe acting like a resistor and not delivering the full voltage down the line. Just a guess.
22. If you look at photos of the 48-50's in the photos section you'll see that the wiper shafts are centered under each windshield. The 51-53's are way out towards the edges so the blades can rest all the way down on the bottom of the windshield.
23. I sold 3 of these last year to one man from Chico,Ca. for $75 ea. in rusty original condition. If I'd had more he would have bought them too. You would have to spend at least that much again to have one boiled out, blasted, magnafluxed and milled. Why do you ask?
24. Yeah......I need the clearance around these parts.
