  1. I worked as a delivery man and counterman in a few parts places in the 70s - 80s on Long Island. I remember all the books for each manufacturer, all the stock on the shelves and the exhaust parts hanging from the rafters. Now in Henderson, Nv. Last real parts place here was Pickarts, went out a couple of years ago. Old time countermen, were very knowledgeable, took as much time as needed to find what was needed. Great place for what you needed.
  2. Thanks for the responses. I'll look into Rareparts.com.
  3. Hi Andy, Thanks for the reply. I did check the threads & they appeared unworn. The new pieces seem to have as much or more play as the ones I took out. Too much time has passed to go back to Kanter, I had a few things to deal with before getting back to my P15. Thanks, Jerry.
  4. Hi, I'm looking for some information. Quite a while back I picked up a front suspension rebuild kit from Kanter. Finally, I'm getting to my front suspension. The problem is that there is a lot of play in the eccentric & the through bolt for attaching the upright to the upper control arm. Is any play in this area normal? It seems to me that this connection should be tight & secure. There is play in the pieces I removed. Where can I get good replacements for these? Thanks.
  5. My 1st was a '64 Impala SS conv I bought in '72 for $300. The po was a "friend" of a friend & had put a '70 corvette 350 w/ a 4 spd in it. I spent the next couple of years learning to fix everything he'd screwed up. Wish I still had it though.
  6. I like the red, but it's yours so go w/ what you like.
  7. Growing up on LI we always called them hoists. Later on, I've heard both.
  8. Run for your life - that must be my ex-wife.
  9. My '48 P15 has a 360 put in it previously w/ a gm internal regulator alternator mounted to it. I'd like to put a chrysler alternator in it. I'm not very familiar w/ chrysler alternators or wiring. Does anyone know what alternator will work best & any add'l wiring I'll need to do? Thanks.
  10. +1 Ben delivered my '48 to Nevada from Nebraska & did a great job - reasonable too.
  11. I'd appreciate a copy as well. Thanks.
