  1. That's a darn good swap meet.I've been there a couple of times.Looks like you won't need an umbrella.Hope you find some good stuff.
  2. ..yes it is interesting - I wonder what other parts will show up for sale
  3. ..I didn't want anyone to get a wrong impression Don.
  4. ..For those that may wonder what an Amal tickler is,I had a BSA in my youth and know that it relates to carburetors.
  5. ..Nice work Boxer, glad you found your starter glitch.Certainly a lot safer than your "before" photos.I can appreciate the time and care you took to do the job right.I also like your car - looks great
  6. Original? The OEM kick panels in my Dodge were not in very good shape.I don't have a before photo.I replaced them as in the photo - good enough for the girls I go with.
  7. ...This is a set I purchased - made in USA - WWW.REMAUTOINC.COM. cost was less than $30.00.You can spray paint if you don't like the colour. You can make them yourself of course if you prefer.
  8. Hi Fred,The one I had mounted as yours is now was on a 1950 Plymouth.Probably was on the car since new.It was still on the car after 54 years when I sold the car and the car hadn't incinerated.;)I'm sure there are other stories.I do have a fire extinguisher on hand. Ralph
  9. ..Float adjustment with different fitting?
  10. Hi Fred,I have a B&B carb kit sitting in front of me and if my eyes aren't deceiving me the depth to which the needle seats in those two fittings is slightly different. It seats a little deeper in the fitting you've just installed...Any other ideas? Ralph
  11. Fibre gasket between fitting and carburetor body? I can't make it out in the photo.Ralph
  12. .Looks good Robert. The body on your car appears quite solid.Nice to see the update. ..Ralph
  13. ..Further to my comment Fred,I guess when I took apart the fittings on a carburetor with the filter attached,it was a number of years ago and fittings had no doubt been apart several times in the past and only a couple of threads remained that actually held things together.Something to keep in mind when dealing with vintage plumbing.
  14. Your installation looks good Fred.It may actually give a little more flexibility to the orientation of the fuel filter, while maintainiing tightness on the fittings.I had one a while back connected directly to the carburetor and the threads were stripped on the carb body. Not by me of course.;)Something to be careful of. Just my opinion.Ralph
  15. Thanks for posting this Frankie-It's unlikely I would have discovered this site. I envy the gentleman and his skill and patience. The finished product - invaluable
  16. If you have the time and there's a break in the weather with no precipitation,it would be an idea to lift the cover and leave it off for awhile. If it's vinyl it will trap the moisture even though it's open around the bottom. If you neglect to do this you I think will find any areas where rust has started and also the interior will be much worse come spring and your engine compartment probably won't look too nice either.I've seen the results. ...My 2 cents worth. Ralph
  17. ..We certainly don't want to curb someone's enthusiasm for the hobby. Nothing wrong with a person wanting to get things right with the help of other knowledgeable enthusiasts.Personally, I don't care if someone likes my cars or not-or if they are correct,as long as I am happy with them.I enjoy the hobby for what it is - the cars and the people who share the interest.
  18. Norm,It does require an interest in the hobby.I've gone to a lot of swap meets over the years and not found something I was looking for - that's not to say I came away empty handed.:)Nevertheless I don't think of it as a waste of time.I enjoy myself and generally have a good time.Ralph
  19. Hi Mike, If you're not in a hurry to find the parts you are seeking, you might find going to swap meets interesting. It can be fun and you get to hang out with other car guys.:)I found this horn button earlier this year for 10 bucks at a swap meet -what I would consider a fair price.I realize the plastic in this one says Dodge (for my D25) but it is the same fit as your Plymouth and I think you would be able to find one for the same price with the Plymouth plastic insert.Ralph
  20. Hi Greg,What is Mark using for air filters on his dual carb setup?
  21. ..Sounds great,Benjamin -Trenton,MO sounds like a welcoming place to visit.

    Oil Change

I'll probably just run with the oil Fred.I haven't had a problem to date. The engine runs well.Oil pressure is fine. After spending the big bucks on the oil I briefly considered removing the oil pan and cleaning the grunge, but I didn't have a gasket on hand,so that will be on the agenda with the next oil change.
  23. I've bought parts from both Andy and Roberts-no complaints
