  1. Yup. Been so long I'm having an "age " moment on how to post pictures?
  2. Well I'm back at playing on the Plymouth again. Last year didn't turn out the way I thought ( "best laid plans of mice and men", I guess) so the Plymouth spent most of the year collecting dust in the corner of the shop. I'm still try to finish up some of the things that were overlooked in an effort to get it driving, some of which are not so much fun to complete and, of course are also the things that have to be done to pass inspection for collector status. One of the projects just completed was the heater. I updated it to 12 volts my local parts house had it in stock and it was a direct bolt in. When I was doing bodywork and smoothing the firewall I welded brackets to the inside so that I could mount the heater keeping the firewall smooth and I could drill holes for the hoses where I wanted them. This requires a little extra plumbing but also allowed me to hide the heater control valve.
  3. Oversized cow watering trough on wheels?
  4. I think there's a Hudson in there somewhere!?
  5. The car in the picture looks more like a 1940. Like a p-9 or p-10.
  6. Beautiful car! I really dig it. What type/size tires are you running?
  7. I wasn't confident in the vacuum canister fuel system when I restored my 1927 Chrysler and because went the 6 volt electric fuel pump and regulator route and found that I couldn't reduce the pressure enough to not over run the carburetor float needle. I ended up going back to the original vacuum canister and just spent a lot of time making sure everything was sealed properly and was surprised how well it worked. The car doesn't get a lot of driving and there are no 5 mile hill climbs around here but seems to work well for regular driving
  8. Nice car! I'm pretty partial to the 40 sedans myself. Were any modifications made to the suspension?
  9. This one is from the passenger seat but still cool to me. Blasting down the back roads of central Alberta in my buddy Dale's 54 Olds with canola fields on either side, not much of a stretch to imagine that it's the 50's.
  10. There seems to be a lot of them still around, here's my '26 it started out life as a 4 door sedan.
  11. I think cars are too easy to drive now. I occasionally take my dad's 1927 Chrysler out for a drive and there's so much work involved shifting, steering adjusting spark etc that there's no time to be distracted by the phone.? Glad your granddaughter was ok.
  12. And one from the deck!?
  13. Couple more from that trip.
  14. Nice pics Bill. The last one reminds me of a picture I tried to take this spring when I took the truck to Cortes island to meet up with the family.
  15. Nice work so far. I'm watching with interest as I'm contemplating a rebuild of my own in the near future.
  16. I haven't been around the forum too much lately, life got busy but I'll play along and use this thread as a way to ease back in.?
  17. Everything was hard work back then, falling the tree was tough but now that it's down you still have to cut into something that you can move!!
  18. Pretty funny and maybe timely considering its Valentine's day. Reminds me of a joke with a different viewpoint. An old married couple was walking the fall fair grounds looking at the exhibits and animals when they got to the area displaying cows. In one pen was a huge bull named Sampson and under his name was a sign saying this bull bred 450 times last year. The wife squeezed her husband's hand and said, "wow do you see that dear? 450 times last year!" The husband sighed. They walked on to the next pen which had another big bull named Titan. He had a sign that said this bull bred 550 times last year. Again the wife was impressed. "Look at that dear 550 times!" Again he sighed. Another pen, another huge bull, bred 700 times, " see that dear 700 times!!!" The husband had finally had enough. "Yes Martha 700 times!, But it doesn't say with the same old cow!" Was his reply.
  19. Same here.
  20. I used this kit as well and recommend it. The install was easy but you have to have the bearing retainer on the transmission and the throw-out bearing holder turned by a machinist for clearance unless you can do that type of work yourself.
