  1. Well, I know you are just mulling it over and aren't committed to anything, and each unit is different, but what kinda money does it take to fix the "average' radio. Ballpark figure, of course. Sorry, but money dictates alot for me. It's probably not possible to say, but I thought I'd ask, anyway.
  2. Wow! That looks like a vacation destination to me!
  3. Good idea on the heat-I'll do that. Thanks.
  4. Hmmm....If my wiring had been that good I woulda left it alone and used it! I've been doing mine one wire at a time. But, I'm not doing a restoration, so it's pretty much make it work and still try to make it look OK. YMMV.
  5. Uh oh! Sounds like trouble! I got 2 of my waterpump bolts out, but the third one (The one that holds the gen. bracket) won't move and I rounded it off. Anyone ever use one of those Sears sockets thats spose to get a death grip on rounded off bolts? I think I'm gonna try one. Anyway, let us know how you make out with yours.
  6. Thanks for the pics. It looks like it was a good one. Nifty place to see.
  7. Yeah, it said IND 30 on it and it measured 25" long. Somewhere in the archives I found a chart that said an IND 30 is a 230. So, something doesn't add up. Oh well, I guess I'll just rebuild what I have.
  8. Great pics! The brown ones with the stone wall look like they could have been taken back in the day. Keep 'em coming! Thanks.
  9. I was looking for a 230 Dodge motor. I found an IND 30. Looked around on the archives and found some info that said it was a 230. Cool! So, I go look at it to check it out and it's a 25 1/2" long head. Rats! So, is it really a 230 or is it a 228 that just gets called a 230? I'm confused. Some more. Again. Can anyone 'splain this?
  10. Oh, man! You're gettin' me itchy to get mine going! Great pics! And I agree- that is a beautiful car. Salty's looks like a good place, too.
  11. That's so enjoyable to do on a sunny. warm day after winter. Looks good to me!
  12. Please let us know what you find and/or do to fix things.
  13. Looks great!! I'm liking the yellow motor, too.
  14. Looks like somebody started with the sheet metal from about a '40 Dodge pickup and massaged it into a car. They should have trimmed down the windshield glass a little bit. Different, anyway.
  15. It's a bit far for me, but I have a daughter in McHenry. How far is that from you?
  16. Got my new HCC today, too. Will start in on it tomorrow.
  17. Thanks for the pics. I wish mine was ready to go, so I could do the same as you.
  18. You gotta stay in that ratty ol' place with that crummy weather clear through the week end, huh? I spose you have to spend time loafin' and looking at cars, too. Oh, well- you'll persevere. Have fun!
  19. Now, that's usin' the ol' brain pan!! That's slicker 'n greased owl manure! I really like the fact that you made the stock 6 volt system work. Good job!!!
  20. Either that, or he bought alotta stuff from Costco!
  21. Busy little bee! He did all that in that little building?!?!
  22. "That's why we have insurance." Man, that's cool under pressure!!! Thanks for the pictures.
  23. Definitely cool! I like it! The back is slick as is, but I'd probably opt for a rear bumper, too. I'm thinking the front bumper might be from a '50 (or so) Ford. Maybe. Or not.
