  1. DON"T give up!!! My wife has many health problems and when she was diagnosed with breast cancer the outfit nearest to us basically sent her home to die. They wouldn't treat her because of past/other health issues, blah, blah, etc. Truth is, they were not up to date on their technology. We did some research and ended up in Seattle and now she's considered cancer-free, although she will continue some meds for almost another year. They are making strides in their research and technology daily. Keep after it-most of what cured my wife was scoffed at not all that long ago. It's now mainstream medicine. I won't soft-soap it: it ain't easy and it ain't cheap, but you can do it!!!
  2. There should be a generic version available in your area. It just won't be at Home Depot or True Value. There should be some kind of industrial supply house near you.
  3. Congratulations! You are a blessed man!
  4. Good for you! It's been a long time coming,so now enjoy it.
  5. Prayers have been sent. Please keep us updated.
  6. I think '49 was the first year for the portholes.
  7. Dabbs Greer- didn't he play the Reverend on the "Little House on the Prairie" show? Lotsa other stuff, too.
  8. Young Ed is correct. I think there are 3 '46-'48's, a '39 or '40 and the PU is a '46 or '47.
  9. That's good to hear. The news guys were all to ready to show everything getting wiped out, but the rebuilding is a non-event to them, so it ends up being "old news" unless you are one of the rebuilders. it sounds like it's coming along really well, considering. Keep us posted, when you can.
  10. In watching the videos posted on their site, there were Fords and Chevies running the hill. I didn't look into the rules, but unless FoMoCo and GM shut down this morning, they ain't orphans. So, what's up with that? Anyway, it looks like it would be a really fun and interesting event; win, lose, or draw.
  11. In that case, it should be changed. And, have fun on the road.
  12. You'll probably continue to find little "silver linings" in your situation. Some of the hidey-holes got blown away to reveal new things and maybe some new friends. But, i don't recommend that as a way to make things like that happen. Are things getting rebuilt around there?
  13. Thanks for the great picture, but I bet it doesn't do justice to what you really see.
  14. Welcome- you've come to the right place. All your questions, so far, can be answered with some research of the archives here. It's fun reading. You'll get all the models figured out real quick. It looks like you have a good one to start with. Unique, too.
  15. Don; i used your method of cooking corn. Also put some salt in the water before cooking. When done, they were salted and buttered just slicker'n greased owl manure. great idea- thanks.
  16. My '50 plymouth CC will look alot like that, except for shiny paint. Welcome-You'll fit right in.
  17. It woulda been funnier if alot of it didn't seem so familiar.
  18. Sounds like a keeper. The saw, too.
  19. 1950 Plymouth Club Coupe, Special Deluxe. I'm in need of new rear motor mounts. Steele has to rebuild mine, and although they will be top-notch, they're pretty spendy. I sent a note to Atlas for prices and am awaiting a reply. Bernbaum's didn't appear to have them, so I'm wondering if any one could recommend a supplier. I'd like to get all the bolts, washers, etc. so I know I'd have all the right stuff. Also, would a smashed rear mount cause misalignment problems great enough to cause a 3 spd stick trans to pop out of third gear ever now and then? Thanks, George
  20. You can hope all you want, but your day is coming!!
  21. Oh, yeah! The light at the end of the tunnel. i admire your perseverance! It's looking real good!
  22. I quit wearing a watch cuz I always forgot to wind it. Now i use a cell phone and always forget to recharge it!
  23. Very nice!! That interior is very inviting. Good job.
