Not a darn thing wrong with your car Storming Norman!
Or Yours Red Robin! I really like the chrome accent on the skirts, what is it off of if you don't mind me asking. @Robin (UK)
Thanks Frank.
The spears are '41 Buick items. They were very popular with customisers in the '40s and early 50s. Check out Harry Westergard's custom builds and you'll see them on a lot of his cars.
The trims became so popular, repro pressed steel versions were made and sold as 'Flo-Wings' and 'Jet-Wings'.
A few period pictures attached...

COOL. Love seeing unusual cars like that.
Thanks Robert. There were in their heyday also such things as 1940s and 50s stretch limos used by funeral
homes. Some time back I saw a P15 made into a park sightseeing car....but now I can't recall where it was - in
Canada I think.
Here you go, Bob.
This is the Canadian plexiglass D25...-

Mine will comfortably run all day at 70mph in overdrive, and it sits nicely in the power range to give a bit of acceleration when needed.
My car has a standard 3.9 rear end.-

Did Your son have a bosun's whistle?
No - he was blowing a wartime ARP whistle from my collection.
There's a video clip on my facebook page...

On Friday, our street commemorated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day with music, dancing, a singalong and a day of socially distanced celebration.
My wife dressed as a Land Girl, my son wore US Navy uniform and I wore British Army (Middlesex Regt) battledress in honour of my great uncle, as we paraded around the road in our Plymouth. Our neighbours gave us a rousing reception.

I've enjoyed reading the comments on another thread, comparing P15 Plymouth and 1950s Volvo styling.
So, for a bit of fun, I thought I'd share this photo of 1950s doowop group, The Medallions, posing with my '48 Plymouth coupe, way back in 2000 when I brought them to the UK to perform at our Rhythm Riot Festival.
I did my best to recreate the picture in the style of the famous promo for their 1959 hit, '59 Volvo'.
Here's a link to the song...

That's correct, Frank.

I smell a cunning plan to get me active on Facebook?
23 hours ago, Sniper said:Joined, might be a good idea to remind people to put in a location. I see some prices in Euros and Pounds, pretty sure shipping would kill me on anything priced like that. Thanks.
Great idea.
I'll add that to the Group rules and put out a message.-

I would take advantage of the split manifold and and put on dual exhaust. It helps the engine breath, as the rear cylinder has basically no back pressure and loads at the front. I had the manifold cut on my '38 Dodge 218 and she works very nice, the heat riser area was cut out and I have never had issues with cold running even in below freezing temperatures. I will probably do the same to my '51 Dodge truck when I locate a spare exhaust manifold.
I have to agree. A split manifold or headers with dual exhaust is the single biggest change you can make with a bolt-on to these motors. It transforms the car.

I’d like to join and participate. However the group privacy is set to “Public”. Meaning every time I post or respond in the group, every single one if my FB friends gets notified of my posts. I don’t need my mother-in-law or co-worker knowing about my desire to buy or sell vintage Mopar parts.
My suggestion is you change the group setting to “Private” so only members of the group see all the posts. Then myself, and likely others will join in and actively participate.
Regards. Keith
Thanks Keith.
That's been updated and I've set a custom address at www.facebook.com/groups/FlatheadMoparParts
Appreciate the feedback and look forward to welcoming you to the Group. -
I set up a new facebook Group a few hours ago, specifically for owners to buy and sell parts for flathead Mopar cars & trucks.
The Group already has 39 members, from several countries, and it's shaping up to be great way to reduce the burden of eBay fees and help keep our vehicles on the road.
Please come and join us at Flathead Mopar Parts - For Sale & WantedAnd please spread the word... Everyone's welcome.
