On Friday, our street commemorated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day with music, dancing, a singalong and a day of socially distanced celebration.
My wife dressed as a Land Girl, my son wore US Navy uniform and I wore British Army (Middlesex Regt) battledress in honour of my great uncle, as we paraded around the road in our Plymouth. Our neighbours gave us a rousing reception.

I've enjoyed reading the comments on another thread, comparing P15 Plymouth and 1950s Volvo styling.
So, for a bit of fun, I thought I'd share this photo of 1950s doowop group, The Medallions, posing with my '48 Plymouth coupe, way back in 2000 when I brought them to the UK to perform at our Rhythm Riot Festival.
I did my best to recreate the picture in the style of the famous promo for their 1959 hit, '59 Volvo'.
Here's a link to the song...

Welcome to the Forum.
You'll find a lot of very useful information, and some amazingly helpful people on here.
As a 'new' UK owner, I hope you'll be able to join us at The P-15 Picnic in September, and come along to The Pilgrimage in April.
PM me with your email address and I'll add you to our circular news list.
Also, if you're on facebook we have a page for UK owners, so please join us here.
All the best,Robin

I smell a cunning plan to get me active on Facebook?
23 hours ago, Sniper said:Joined, might be a good idea to remind people to put in a location. I see some prices in Euros and Pounds, pretty sure shipping would kill me on anything priced like that. Thanks.
Great idea.
I'll add that to the Group rules and put out a message.- 1

I would take advantage of the split manifold and and put on dual exhaust. It helps the engine breath, as the rear cylinder has basically no back pressure and loads at the front. I had the manifold cut on my '38 Dodge 218 and she works very nice, the heat riser area was cut out and I have never had issues with cold running even in below freezing temperatures. I will probably do the same to my '51 Dodge truck when I locate a spare exhaust manifold.
I have to agree. A split manifold or headers with dual exhaust is the single biggest change you can make with a bolt-on to these motors. It transforms the car.

I’d like to join and participate. However the group privacy is set to “Public”. Meaning every time I post or respond in the group, every single one if my FB friends gets notified of my posts. I don’t need my mother-in-law or co-worker knowing about my desire to buy or sell vintage Mopar parts.
My suggestion is you change the group setting to “Private” so only members of the group see all the posts. Then myself, and likely others will join in and actively participate.
Regards. Keith
Thanks Keith.
That's been updated and I've set a custom address at www.facebook.com/groups/FlatheadMoparParts
Appreciate the feedback and look forward to welcoming you to the Group. -
I set up a new facebook Group a few hours ago, specifically for owners to buy and sell parts for flathead Mopar cars & trucks.
The Group already has 39 members, from several countries, and it's shaping up to be great way to reduce the burden of eBay fees and help keep our vehicles on the road.
Please come and join us at Flathead Mopar Parts - For Sale & WantedAnd please spread the word... Everyone's welcome.

I know the color of the P15 wheel and column is called 'Vogue Brown' but I don't have any codes.
Perhaps the name will help you find the information.
Good luck.

I'd like to find the trim mounted mirrors for my 48. I saw them on a Hemmings featured car once. Been looking, but come up short. Long term goal anyways.
Look out for a PM

Most folks use clip on door edge mirrors that attach with set screws. But most have arms that are too short to be seen when mounted on the passenger side. Seems like you need six inch as opposed to the four inch most commonly available.
I fitted a 4" stick-on convex mirror on the passenger side, to increase the viewing angle.
There's a huge blind spot in the convertible when the top's up (which is most of the time in the UK!) and, to make it harder, we drive on the 'wrong' side, so a good view in the passenger side mirror is essential! -

My second year flying over to the UK and attending the picnic. So well received and had so much fun. I hope I can keep attending for many years to come!
Cheesecake, Guinness and a P-15 Picnic souvenir notebook... The perfect table setting!
It was great to see you again Mark.- 1

Following Simon's lead, I'll chip in too.
I own the red Convertible.
I imported the car to the UK 15 years ago but have been on the Forum longer than that, as I previously owned a P15 Club Coupe.
Since i got it, my car's undergone a bit of a 'high school hop up' and now runs dual carbs through an Edmunds intake, Fenton headers with twin exhausts, Fenton finned ali head, and an R10 overdrive transmission.
The rear has been lowered 1.5 inches, it wears fender skirts with '41 Buick trims, blu-dot rear lenses, half-moon headlamp shields, Mopar electric gas cap and Hollywood flipper hubcaps.
My convertible was supplied new on 3rd September 1947 by Gettysburg Motors in Pennsylvania and remained in Gettysburg until I bought it in 2004.
