  3. I will look in the automatic choke, also where did you the heater duct mine definitely needs replaced and its made out of some type of fiber it's just falling apart. im not a type of guy that can do it all but I will try. This car needs every this either replaced or taken apart and cleaned so I'm sure I'll have more qutions in the future.
  4. OK thank you that helps alot. About not being clear on description, it's been awhile since I been on here didn't really know how to put my issue in . It would only allow me to post the pictures
  5. Need help knowing name of part in first picture so I need can replace it and the second picture I need to know name and operation of it this is a 1950 plymouth coupe
  6. Ok that help me narrow that down. The high beam indicator is wired wrong to it comes on at the first notch . Thanks for the help makes it alot easier and I'm not burning fusesor bulbs
  7. Ok so then it might be my culprit well I'll keep it on there don't plan on running much at night if it doesn't again time to replace it. I would think the generator would have a hard time keeping it Chared with lights on.
  8. Ok that's some good info, is the source your referring the cluster Infront of radiator or the switch.
  9. I got it narrowed down to the just the head lights not working by using a test light both plugs other than I think some one re wierd the lights one point time cause on socket the high beams on and on the other the low beams on and vise versa when I hit the dimmer. But I'm still skeptical about head lights cause the were replaced 7 years ago so I wonder what made them go bad. I will find out thanks all.
  10. Yes behind little door in front of radiator? Beside a little rust it all looks good.
  11. And can the generator charge if running a 8v battery while driving with head lights on
  12. Battery is good and clean just discovered the battery installed on this car is a 8v not 6v would that cause issues like blown head light or something?
  13. OK so do you mean voltage drop from starter? and how do I test that. and testing measurements is done a micrometer ?
  14. OK good to know I'm getting car out tomorrow and getting my front cross member replaced at a classic car garage so I will ask him where i can get that set up. Im sure he will know what your talking about.
  15. Ok so sounds like it's time for a rebuild or new starter
  16. Mine looks like it was replaced with a hose returning to what I think is the blower bow ( that's my technical term)
  17. I was thinking grabbing new cable so I will look for those and starer relay it gets red hot at times when it wants to turn over slow. That be why some times it starts in one crank and other times it reeeeal slow. So O cable it is.
  18. I have access to driver side socket but on meter are so short I could not make contact with metal in socket. So I too two pieces of coper wire and touched the leads on the meter to the wires got nothing , then it stated to rain. So now I wonder did I do it right? So did I find my issue. Witch still doesn't explain build having no continuity, when it looks new.
  19. Yes I bought a 6v charger the second day I had it theses things turn over so slow I some times wonder if it will ever start.
  20. Not sure what you mean about tie points on radiator shell. Now I won't sleep till I can see the car to know if I did over look lol.
  21. Yes lots of good advise problem is the vehicle is in storage and don't like ke to bring it home unless good weather is in site so once the rain shows it's coming it all comes to a hualt.
  22. Driver side bulb is plugged in nice tight so I know that not the issue but yes not sure of left side light . New bulbs are on order .
  23. I took jumper wire with gator clips straight to the battery and no action from the light so I'm guessing lamp is bad unless you think the gator clips was not good enough contact. It started raining so I had to stop even though it's under a canopy
