  1. Can someone tell me how to get the clutch pedal assembly off the frame plz. I’ve removed the 2 small bolts from side of frame and the nut on the clutch pedal arm also and can’t get it to budge. I’ve ordered a manual but hasn’t came yet and I’m trying to get it off so I can degrease stuff before trying to fit my 318 into the car. Thanks
  2. Yes sounds like it’s not for an amateur with no welder or major fabbing skills lol
  3. Isn’t the 48 frame different than a 51? Wasn’t sure if the same rack would apply for the 51 or not.
  4. I did search this and found that thread. I’m looking for a parts list of what was used or needed besides just the rack. I’m probably going to use a trunk mount battery kit but also I’m going to try and fit the inner fenders back in after motor fitment is done. I honestly don’t see a way for motor to fit unless the firewall is massaged to do so. Looks like if I mount motor to fit without firewall issues the front crank pulley will hit the crossmember unless the motor sits higher than I’m looking at it to sit lol
  5. So who’s done the RnP swap on their 51s. What year cavalier rack does it require and what other parts? Was the original steering column used or replaced? Thanks pics also if u have any plz. Trying to fit a 318 down into my Cambridge and looks like more room if that bulky steering box is out of the way
  6. I have already done the disc brake front and rear. When I first thought about doing this swap a lot of guys were “oh yeah it’s been done. No major mods needed”. Now nothing but trial and error stuff. I’ve thought about frame swap but wouldn’t know what to start looking for. I’ve heard s10 or do a camaro front stub swap which I don’t want to do. So far all I’ve gotten is useless info saying trial and error and best of luck. All I’m asking is who has done this swap and was the firewall a complete modification because others on another page first told me no the firewall was not an issue but that’s a load of crap haha. I appreciate the replies tho
  7. That posts has no info except pull front clip off and fabricate to fit. But thanks for replying. I’m looking for someone who has actually done the swap and can give me specifics
  8. Ok guys that have swapped in a 318 with 727 trans on a 51 Cambridge sedan. I’m trying to install mine and so far it looks like the firewall will need massive modifying and exhaust manifolds are sitting on steering tube and front of engine will be half way into the radiator. I see Butches makes a v8 cross member kit that says any small block will fit. But what about my issues listed above? I have the hemi motor mount kit already but doesn’t look like it will work either ?‍♂️ I need info and help please pics would be a definite plus lol. Thanks guys
  9. What does yours measure. I don’t have my car with me it’s in my buddies shop and he said it was 24”. Idk for sure tho
  10. Motor and trans came out of a mid to late 70s Plymouth Fargo pickup from outside manifold to outside manifold it measures 25” and between my inner fenders it’s 24”. I will see about cutting on the inner fenders some. Thanks
  11. I’m looking at putting a 318 with the a body driver manifold and a auto trans into my 51 Cambridge. Seems motor measures about an inch wider than what the inner fenders measure. Has anyone done this swap and have to modify the inner fenders? Thanks
  12. Is there a market for flatheads? I’m gonna v8 my 51 Cambridge. It has the 218 flathead and 3 speed and they have 54000 miles on them. Motor purrs like a kitten and trans shifts good. Also gonna have the original rearend. So all the running gear is gonna be for sale. What is a fair value to ask for on this stuff or is it worth anything? Thanks
  13. Thanks guys I think we have it figured out for the biggest part. My buddy made a bracket for the compressor to mount and we are close to figuring out how to mount the unit under the dash area
  14. Has anyone used an aftermarket heat/ac unit like the one pictured. If some plz send me a message I have a couple questions. Thanks
  15. What thickness did you use? 1/16, 1/8 or 1/4” ?
  16. For you guys that have made your own interior panels what did you use? I am wanting to make new kick panels for my Cambridge. I have the original panels but they are dry and fragile and was wanting to make something to recover that would be thick enough to last and work decent. I’m not an upholsterer but figure since they are kick panels and will be low and harder to see I would try it myself and since they will be cut for 6.5” speakers there won’t be much material left to mess with lol. I’ve thought about thicker card board but unsure. Is there a place to order interior parts for these cars? Thanks for any info and help
  17. I was assuming this was just an add on kit to the original 3spd trans?
  18. So this kit looks like what I need since I cannot seem to find a t5 or ranger 5spd anywhere close to me ?‍♂️
  19. That’s what I was wanting to do but finding a ranger trans around me here has been impossible and that’s the reason I’m looking for other options. Thanks
  20. Loren thanks I am looking into that option as well and may be my cheapest route to go.
  21. AndyDodge I’ve been looking for the ranger fm132 trans and have had no luck on that one. Heard the gm t5 would work but haven’t heard of anyone who had done it or anyone that would reply back with the info on the swap. I’m also swapping the rearend out for a Ford 8.8 disc brake rear and doing the scarebird disc brake conversion on the front. Would love to have more specifics of someone doing the gm t5 though
  22. Thanks for adding me to the page. I have a 51 cambridge and want to do a trans swap to a 5spd. I’ve been told T5, FM132(Ford ranger) and the a833od trans. Who has done a T5 that can point me in right direction of what trans I need and what extras are needed. Thanks
