  1. What a great find! Congratulations on the successful search
  2. Winter has set in for the Great White North! Chassis is out in cold storage so I can keep the tractor warm, but just enough shop space to start doing some body repairs.....first item..... repair the rear cab mounts that had been pushed right through the floor pan!
  3. absolutely left hand threads on one end, right hand on the other. this is so that you can loosen both clamp bolts and turn the tie rod itself to adjust toe-in without taking off one of the tie rod ends :-).
  4. LOL, let me be about the 100th person to say that interior is AMAZING! You have got yourself a wonderful piece of history ?
  5. Well, the labor of love continues.... Frame has been gone through, repaired and painted. Engine and trans completed and running great. Front axle redone with NEW springs, kingpins, and wheel cylinders. Picking up the new springs for the rear tomorrow at the spring shop. Now.... if I could just find a new front brake drum to replace the broken (yes broken) one, sigh. Darn 6 bolt patterns!
  6. My new project..... a DE2-26 Windsor build 1 ton.
  7. Hi there Darkrider. I have "inherited" the older sister to your 1 ton, mine is a '48 DE2-26 out of the Windsor plant. Farm truck with a tough past. First thing I ran into was the tire issue. Did you end up keeping your original wheels with the split ring (not split rim)? I had to educate a couple of tire shops here, but will have to do any tire work myself. This old girl needs a complete rebuild of everything in the drive line, including replacement of a few broken leaf springs on the front and rear. Still looking for replacement leaves and coming up short. Cheers!
