  1. Yes, I was thinking I was going to be buying wheels... but must admit, I really like the look and fit. While there is some more room for tire, for additional support back there for the new rear assembly I might end up with a slight mini-tub and get a few more inches out of it.
  2. I have made some progress... i picked up a full donor car, an '08 charger with Police package, 5.7 litre, NAG1 trans. I got the chevy 6 that was in there removed, fab'd up some mounts and have the motor set in. Waiting to burn the frame side of the mounts in until I get the rear in place. I am swapping the stock(?) rear for the charger rear end. Give me the big police disc brakes and irs,, also helps with the trans.
  3. JerseyHarold - already took care of that. I am in VA and there is an established albeit relatively unknown process to get a title. Takes roughly 120 days and $150 to complete and is always my first step when I pick up a project vehicle from states that do not require or when there is incomplete documentation.
  4. Did you end up cutting some of the frame out to prevent rubbing? What size bag are you running? Did you do any modification to the spring seat on the bottom, flip it to the lower side of the a - arm or cut and replace the top with a traditional airbag seat?
  5. Wow,.. That is looking amazing! I really like how that is coming together. That is going to be a real head turner.
  6. So, yeah... I tend to agree. I am sure there was logic in there, or ease of parts availability when this was first designed maybe? Hopefully I will be able to get it on without issue. I pulled the trigger on the donor charger. So,.. I'm gonna need some good brakes.
  7. They do, the g56 or tr6060? Hard to come by without giving away your first born. That would definitely be the ticket.
  8. I learned to weld on my CJ build. I like to keep my old cars old also, and that desoto hemi and 4speed sounds ideal to me. I also think there's nothing better than a manual in a classic regardless of power plant. If I can find a good manual to put behind a gen3, that would be the way id go. The modern motor and reliability make this a cruiser even my wife will want to drive.
  9. Sniper - that's a great reference. I recall seeing that previously. I guess it's time to get out the tape and start measuring.
  10. Thanks, yeah figure I'd have to fab some mounts or buy some speedway mounts and cut/weld em in to fit. Seems just not enough of these around or folks willing to take it on for aftermarket support.
  11. So,... I have seen a bunch of posts and articles on various sites about gen III hemi swaps and they are becoming much easier to come by these days. Has anyone tried to jam one of them into a d-19 or similar? I have a line on a vehicle to pull the entire drive train from a Charger R/T, it's the whole car really, and the price is very well within reasonable and the motor purs like a kitten. So, will it fit? Any potential issues to watch for that you may have run into? I am close to pulling the trigger on this as I don't think I can pass the deal (even if I find something else to put it in). Just wondering if this is a "hell no", or a "go for it".
  12. Been a while, figured I'd post an update. Haven't done much but attempt to clean up/out the car. I did drop a Jerry can and battery in it and the motor fired right up. Albeit spraying fuel out of every hose and connection. The chevy 6 cylinder appears to be from a truck and I was able to get the th-350 to move the car a few feet before it stalled out. Good thing as I have zero brakes. ... I went ahead and ordered the Rusty Hope kit and have it and all the parts on the shelf just waiting for time. Took the front body work off to fit it into the garage and started to scrape off the many years of build up that was protecting the front end components. Once that is all cleaned up and inspected I will install the disc brake kit. If I can get it to stop.. Then I will try to make it run. That chevy drivetrain though... Just doesn't feel right. May need to find me something more Dodge.
  13. Hey, I get it.... Work and my wife getting her MBA has me running the girls around... So much so, I am just now getting to this response and haven't done much but move my jeep out of the garage and the dodge in. ?. The bags need room, rubbing may be racing... But it's disaster for bags.
  14. That is low, I like it! Do you have dropped kingpins also or is that just with the bag in and aired down? Do you have any updates and more details on the progress and pics? ?
