  1. Thanks everyone for the input!
  2. I didn’t think it was. Glad I didn’t get it. The overdrive pull cable threw me for a loop. Definitely going to snag that next time I’m there. I was kinda pressed for time today anyway. Also going to figure what the cable was run to. Thanks!
  3. Hey everyone! First post. Been following for awhile now. Trying not to ask things that have been asked before. Got a 41 Plymouth SD 2 dr sedan earlier this year as a project. Got it running and driving. Still lots to do. Anyway, someone got me thinking about an overdrive for it. Went to the junkyard today to see if they had anything. One car potentially has one. It’s a later model Plymouth from the 40s or early 50s. There is an overdrive lever under the dash. But I could not see any kind of solenoid on the transmission housing itself like I was told to look for. Pictures are attached to help identify this for me seems like I might be able to get a good deal on it. The car has been sitting for God knows how long but the transmission still goes through the gears. First photo is my car. Not the one the transmission is in. Thanks for the help!
