I've got myself in a situation where I have to weld my patch panels on my 1938 Truck restoration. I have the truck in storage where there is no electricity. I need help in picking out a portable generator, but can't find enough trustworthy info to get the right wattage. Can anyone help me with the right power that I'll need to power my 15+ year old Lincoln SP-135T. It's a 110v machine. Thanks in advance.

I was working on my 38 Dodge Humpback RC truck. Then I moved from Mass. to Webster NY. The truck and an enormous amount of 1938 parts are sitting in a storage facility. There is no extra room to work on it because of the parts. What are some of the places that allow restoration without costing an arm and a leg? What should I be looking for? Thanks for your help before hand.

I am not able to use the original L6 engine in my 38 Dodge Humpback Panel truck RC. I'm interested in finding out what you all used as an upgrade substitute from 70's and up engine and automatic transmission combo. I'm not sure what I really want to do so your info is of value to me. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I didn't tell you all that I'll be unloading in a UHaul it storage facility between two and have to be careful. Please keep the ideas coming.

I am looking for your experience on this. I have a 1938 1/2 ton that I will be trailering later this month. Getting it on the trailer is not my problem, BUT getting it off is. No engine or brakes. I'll be using a UHaul trailer without a come along attachment. How do I get it off the truck without brakes. I know someone out there has done this. Please share your info. Thanks guys.

Unfortunately ........................ It is Not a nut, That is what is so perplexing. The brake drums are the female and the bolt (which has threads and a head on it) is the Male. I can get all of the right and left handed bolts (not studs) that I need. The problem is that they are ALL 1/2 " and the caliper measurement is 7/16". It doesn't make sense BUT that is what it measures. I have the original part number, but I need a chart as Plymouthy Adams said. AND a place that sells these "non existent" 7/16" Bolts. I'm stumped. Hello again, I took the advice given and got the wheel fasteners (wheel studs, wheel bolt, etc) from a reputable on line dealer The name changed from one web page to another. I found the original part numbers from my manual, as suggested, and thanks to you all I got pointed to an interchange part number. I received what is supposed to be the right size for my 1938 Dodge RC and went to put them on. They were too big. I got my caliper out and measured the inside diameter of the brake drum threads and measured the bolts. The bolts are 1/2 " and the thread openings on the rear drums are..7/16 ". All the sellers apparently only have the 1/2 " Where do I get the smaller ones? If there is such a thing. I have no idea what the thread count is. Thank you for looking.

I need techniques for cleaning out the rusty rear wheel bolt threads. Is there a tool to do the job. I have the right and left hand threaded bolts and neither work. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jerry. I bought two of the $23 ones totally missing that it was a BOX of 5. So now I have 8 extra. I went back to read the info again and still didn't see the "box" info, But they fit and now on to the next problem. Thanks to you and all the other responses. I thank you for your time and trouble. I really appreciate it. If you have ever sold your house and got ready to move you can understand my plight. I can't find anything, and I have to prepare my truck to a rolling chassis to get it on the transport. It seems that I am moving at the speed of sound in all directions. I just ordered the spindle nuts from AutoZone and they should be here in a few days. Thanks again for your help Fran

I have found some numbers.. For the RC truck the part number is 33208 which, when I look in the "Front wheel bearing nut" section, it doesn't show but in it's place is 575469. I hope this is enough, Thanks in advance,

I have a 1938 Dodge RC humpback panel truck. I've been looking for almost 4 days on line and haven't found the correct size or where to get it. Can anyone help me with this please? The spindle measures 3/4. I don't know the thread count. Thanks

Thanks for all of the answers. There seem to be quite a few choices for sure. That's what I like about this forum. 15 years ago when I joined, there were some "participants" who would have (and did) answered "Why do you want to do it that way for" instead of telling us How they did it. There are as many ways to do something. We try it and if it works, we pass it on. If it doesn't work, we "change the subject". Your different choices are the underlying info that I need.
