    As mentioned, toe plays almost as much a part in this as caster. 
    and i dont recall 40 psi being the correct pressure for bias-ply tires. 
    guess higher pressure lowers rolling resistance. 
    seems you are getting close, and there are so many  variables. 
    one change at a time, and make a note of the change. 
     
    side note, my 2001 pt cruiser has only toe adjustment. After replacing a tie rod end with careful measurement it was difficult to drive,it took 1/2 turn on adjuster to make all the difference. 
     
    changing caster or camber, toe is always reset last.

    On a design/construction note, most seat belts are attatched to body, double thickness sheet metal,and a welded nut on backside. Not thru-bolted to frame. 
    as seat belts arent required in my truck, it wont be getting them. 
     
    if you choose to use seat belts,fastening to floor with an extra plate may be a better choice. 
    in the event of cab seperating from chassis, i would rather be tethered to the cab.

    I really dont see how a 1/2” grade 5 bolt wouldnt be enough for a seat belt.

    You had a particular way you wanted it to look. As do i. 
    i knew what i wanted the dash to look like,clean and shiny, along with whole interior. Original patina outside, inside neat and clean.

    Funny the stuff we do. I did my truck with all stainless bolts. The original batch had nice smooth heads. During a test fit I ruined a couple (learned you need anti seize) and the replacements had letters on the head. Even though I'm sure no one would ever notice I filed the letters off those replacements

    There are A LOT of bolts to tighten.  Sorry I don't have the before photo, but I do have a helpful tip.
     
    I did this back around 1978 by crawling around with lots of truck in the way.  This last time, I made a roll around, open top cart to set the bed on for reassembly.  The roll around cart will allow you (or some other poor soul) the "ease" of going under the bed to tighten all of the bolts with minimal things in the way. 
     
    Over the years, the bed sides on my truck kind of "pouched" out, so this also allowed me to use straps and manpower to push them back in while bolting the bed wood straps in place.

    Found out the metal shavings were from the oil slinger getting chewed up, it didn’t seem to have hurt anything so i just tossed it. Also there was a small dent in the timing cover so the chain was eating away at it some. So hopefully that’s the end of the worrisome shavings.

    Thought i would add my version of the glove box as well. Some panelling or subfloor i had lating around, a few pieces of what may have been angle brackets from garage door opener kit. And pop rivets. Came out good for 1st attempt.

    So i thought i would share a little modification i think may help someone. 
    My 51 fargo, near as i can tell never had a heater, as defroster ducts were non existant. 
    wife found a compact heater on a site called wish,$69.
    so i proceeded to mount it,and decided to put a water valve on it. Cable operated from a mid 70’s dodge pickup. Next was switching it. As i didnt want to bore another hole in dash, i decided to think outside the box. Cable pulled slightly and fan will come on,and temp can be regulated by opening valve more or less.

    There are two types a 1 wire and a three wire.  The 1 wire is pretty much a universal application. As long as you are wiring for 12 v neg.  They are internally regulated but need to be spun up above idle to start them charging.  Simply do up a bracket, connect the wire to the battery through an indicator light on the dash and you are in business.  They are usually limited to 80 amps or so max so not really suited to cars with a heavy accessory load.  But for a simple car like the Plymouth with radio and heater and headlamps should be good to go.  The three wire needs a bit more in the way of electrical circuitry as it does get hooked to the ignition side to excite it's field windings and some are extrenally regulated.  But as noted the GM stands for both unit manufactured to General motors design specs, Ford and Mopar had their own specs and designs and some would attest a more complex circuitry wiring needs, making the GM style easier to adapt to older cars.

    My vote is 180 out. 
    i check with my thumb over spark plug hole, back it up to zero on timing mark and set points where they crack open, can use an ohmmeter or a test light.

    I tried to do it your way and it just did not work. It’s been a long time sitting and you constantly are chasing little crap through your fuel system and once it hits the carb, you really start cussing!!! I vote to drop the tank. It’s only 4 bolts and a couple lines. Turn it upside down and do the bongo on it. Toss some nuts, bolts, ball bearings in it and take it for a ride in the back of your other pick up for another week or two on some windy roads and rail road tracks and rattle that puppy! Rinse it out good with some solvent/diesel afterwards and try using a boroscope to see inside what you have left. If it’s good, get r sealed up and reinstall. Add good gas. I would also pop a couple in line fuel filters (clear) before the fuel pump to catch any crap that might be left and just toss em as needed. A bit more work but worth it in the long run. Bad  dirty fuel just keeps biting you And costing   You   Good luck!

    A neighbour lit up a shop vac,figured he could pull a few filings out of the fuel line after cutting it. 
    before he realized what he had done the turbocharged gas fueled flame thrower really got his attention. Managed to get the walk through door open and threw it out into the snowbank. In the meantime the vacuum had started a siphon effect on the fuel line (3/8”) and the puddle was growing by leaps and bounds. 
    he had to make sure there was nothing on fire before he started dealing with the spilled gas. A harrowing experience for him. Original owner ‘69 dart gts. Mint condition. 
     
     
    i put a wrench on my rotten rusty 51 gas tank and plug came out easily. Was the only thing worth keeping from the tank.

    I am sure you'll do better on the video than I did, I didn't post it because apparently I had my phone turned the wrong way, so when I "looped it" together it cut the image down in size and my butt was the focus LOL (plus I can't stand to here myself ramble)

    Exactly. I put passenger side in,then while standing outside of truck on passenger side i pulled glass towards right outer window post to seat it tight to window post. Then i placed left glass into center bar, stretched rubber onto glass and worked it into place.evenly across top and bottom until i reached the edge. Then worked edge in. Once you get drivers vertical rubber started, you will need to give glass a couple slaps open handed, to move glass outwards. 
    not a porky slap, just a few light smacks. 
    Once its in, leave it alone for the day,for rubber to settle. Body shop guy says driving it will seat it too. 
     
    I will be using seam sealer between body and windshield rubber.a very small bead to make it watertight. After i install inside trim.

    For whatever reason i couldnt get glass in with both pieces in the rubber. Put passenger side in first then slipped glass into rubber. I used a hook to carefully work rubber over pinch weld. Less than an hour. Need helper. Oh,and a body squeegee and lots of glass cleaner
     
    and of course i scraped the fresh paint on my dash.

    I'm starting a new thread to show this restoration, rather than continue to use the "What Heater fits..." thread I started when I was trying to find a heater. I'm not going to move the content related to the restoration, but you can still see it here:
     
    The beginning of the project to restore the heater is there, I'm picking it back up with the rust removal of the rest of the box and associated parts. Today I did the first half of the main box. I again used a power supply and a bucket of water with Washing Soda it in. The details can be seen on the previous thread. Nothing new there. I am using the currently limiting resistor this time of course to avoid damaging my power supply, again. Due to other resistances in the circuit, namely I didn't bother to get a perfect connection from my negative wire to the metal, the current was about 1.36A. That's based upon there being a 6.82ish volt drop across my 5-Ohm resistor. Ohms law.
     
    I didn't take a picture of the metal before, but I do have the other side and the first part I did today. I left it in the bath for around 3 hours. There is a very minor amount of rust in some places. Most people might just use a spray over rust type paint, but I'm going to put it back in the bath tomorrow to finish the job.
     
    Looking at these pieces to take pictures, I see the worst part is the ones I've already done. I still wouldn't paint over this rust. A side benefit of the electrolytic rust removal, is that is take all the original paint off too

    I think i got lucky with the parts truck having exactly what i needed to do the cover swap. Think i will swap clutch cover,to keep the removed park brake as a set with everything. I should have replaced the clutch shaft bushing while i was right there, cab is back on so i get to do it the hard way. Its going to be a lot easier as it has all been apart, cleaned and lubed. Learning is 1/2 the fun with fixing these old trucks!

    on original topic...I once started with a crank handle...took almost 7 years to get the rest of the car to go with it...
