  1. Thanks to everyone who responded. 9 ft box can you help me identify where in my pictures the short linkage connects?
  2. Took off my carburetor to clean it and now can not figure out how to reconnect linkage. It seems I am missing a part. Anyone have a picture or drawing showing how this carburator linkage is supposed to be put together? I believe I know where one side of the short piece is to connect (see arrow) but not the other end.
  3. Tried again today with no luck. Starts with Starter Fluid, then will idle for a few seconds then dies. Removed air cleaner and watched carb when trying to start. Did not find the float rising and found some leakage from carb body so removed carb. Found some potential leak areas on gaskets so will replace those. Removed carb body from fuel bowl and needle pin is clean and moving easily (fell out when tipped fuel bowl) Thinking now that lack of fuel in carb is due to fuel pump not working. Was not able to work on fuel pump today. (truck is stored 30 min away) Unless the forum believes otherwise I will test the fuel pump next.
  4. Thanks to everyone for the responses, I will try them tomorrow and then provide an update.
  5. Truck was running fine but now will start then quit when accelerator pedal is pushed. Looking for ideas to correct this issue. Thinking the carb should be rebuilt.
  6. Just purchased a 1953 and can not get the visor metal strip to move up and down. The bar moves toward the door and windshield. I don't see any damage to the metal strip, which does slide out and in on the bar easily. What am I missing here?
