  1. I switched to 12V.. Also a V8, automatic, newer rear end.. NO problems at all......
  2. I say no, it's not to valuable.. Do what you want to make it safe and enjoyable for you and the grand kids.. 12V, rebuild the brakes, new wiring harness, new tires and anything else that's iffy.....
  3. I want stock width wheels, are they 4 1/2" or 5" is all I want to know......
  4. Actually Any that would work on original wheels...
  5. Anybody found alternative small hubcaps that fit on 1953 Plymouth stock wheels?? All the originals I found are either beat up or way to expensive.. I'm looking for aftermarket, baby moons, police caps or any other that may fit.. Looks like 7 1/4" inside and 9" outside measurement.. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Milo
  6. Yes, but it's a sbc,350 turbo trans and Ranger rear end.. Not trying to fool anybody just thought it looked better as a poly head.....
  7. V8 swap would be easier with no firewall cutting.... Trade or sell the slant 6 package...
  8. Thanks "CaptainGTX".. That's all I really wanted to know.. Now I can look for 15" x 4 1/2" wheels.. I already know the backspacing and bolt pattern...
  9. Really like the VW.. Oh, and the fastback ain't bad either....
  10. I like this tucked in look, front and rear, with the stock wheels and that is why I'm trying to find out the true width of the original wheels to buy new ones that take a 10 1/4" dog dish cap....
  11. That's why I want to buy new rims.....
  12. I really like your coupe "greg g".. I like the way the stock wheels are tucked under the fenders on my 53 Plymouth but want to run rims that take the 10 1/4" dog dish hubcaps.. I want to keep the tires and stock rims mounted and hate to take one apart to measure.. When I try to measure the front side and back side with a tire mounted I come up with about 4 3/4".. So I'm not sure if its a 4 1/2" or 5".. Thanks so far for the help,Milo
  13. Anybody else know the original stock wheel width on a 1953 Plymouth??? I want to buy new wheels the same width as originals.... Thanks for any help, Milo
  14. I'm having trouble finding the width of stock 15" rims on a 1953 Plymouth.. Can anyone help with this ?? Thanks in advance, Milo
  15. Rubber brake hoses could be partially plugged on the inside or the hose could be collapsing.. Master is strong enough to push fluid through but spring not strong enough to pull/push fluid back through towards master... Just a guess and only if you didn't replace the hoses.....
