I would like to install one of these also. When you change to the carter YF style carb what happens to the vacuum advance? Can it be removed? my carter ball and ball has a vacuum line below the carb running to the distributor thanks

Forgive my lack of knowlege and understanding here. I am changing fluids on my 1951 fargo truck project as i wait for brake cylinders is there a way to tell if i have fluid drive? The truck came with dashpot carburetor I dont see an access port on top anywhere thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Im just wanting to know if its ok to run the carb with the dashpot plunger removed completely or if i should repair it then disable it the way mentioned if necessary

I dont know how to tell regarding fluid drive... Ive never driven the truck yet

Hello again, My 1951 fargo project came with a carter ball and ball carb with mechanical dashpot. I have manual steering column shift transmission my question is will the carburetor function with the dashpot plunger removed? it is damaged and i have removed it entirely, my rebuild kit did not include the leather boot required to repair it. thank you.

Running an older chrysler 2 field alternator and regulator for 12v. The advice im seeking is in regard to replacement starters. Do any later models fit? I do not mind going to key ignition start. If i repair the 6v starter i have im wondering how long it will last@12v Thanks

Hello, I am the new owner of a 1951 dodge Fargo pickup here in Canada. Truck was not running due to botched 12v conversion and bad wiring. Got the truck running very well but my 6v auto lite mch 6106 starter running on 12v only engages some if the time. This is the foot operated starter. Mostly it just spins when engaged but occasionally after whacking it hard with a 2x4 it will turn the motor and start the truck. What are my options for 12v starting the rest of the truck is converted. Thanks.
