  1. Thank you. She wont upshift at all. Also cant stop without putting clutch in. Also tried starting in high range and it barely wants to move and really drags down. It used to work perfect years ago but since then the carb has been worked on and possibly replaced. It sat for 12 years. (Can was gone from me for 12 years) I changed the fluid as well. If its not that i would think its one of the 2 controls on the transmission itself. Sorry I don't know their exact names of top of my head. This is the last item i need to address to make her a good regular weekend runner!
  2. Ok so the search for a solenoid is on! Lol. Only way i have been able to drive it so far is to use low gear to get moving (using the clutch) and then shifting to high (again with clutch). I figure im only using what would be 1st and 3rd gear. Possibly 2nd and 4th... not really sure. Im worried about doing damage if i keep driving like that... or would it be ok for a little while?
  3. Thank you Dodgeb4ya. Mine does have the kick down plunger and the antistall dashpot plunger but not the solenoid. I wonder if I can just add the solenoid?

  5. Can anyone tell me if this is the right carb for my 51 coronet with gyromatic transmission. It is a stromburg and says 382884 It doesn't appear to have anywhere to connect the transmission wires. The car was gone for several years and the trans shifted before but I git it back after 12 years and am thinking they swapped the carb out. The wires are just going nowhere.
