  4. Looked like steel to me. Iflushed a whole lot of rust out of engine. 53,000 mile car and no sign of it ever being apart. About time I got lucky with old cars.
  5. I was able to find a new radiator to fit my 50 Dodge. While I had it out thought I would pull water pump and check out the infamous distribution tube. Stuck my finger in and pulled it right out not rusted and in great shape. From all I've heard about them this must have been a miracle.
  6. I know it has been talked about countless times but now I need info and can't find it. What kind of oil to use in gyromatic fluid drive?
  7. You should be able to turn shaft enough to line up yhe splines. The dowel is to line up hole through clutch with pilot bearing in crankshaft.
  8. I'm in bad need of a raditor for my 1950 Dodge coronet. Would anybody have a good one they would like to sell?
  9. My number is 04 and I haven't seen a letter or check. But the web sight does say I will get $600. $300 each because I'm retired. I guess retired people don't need money. WRONG
  10. Does anybody sell new radiators for 1950 Dodge D34?
  11. New shoes and drums have been turned. I read a few minutes ago that one band could be longer than shoe. On my b4 a rear brake would grab and the shoe was coming apart on end. I will take it off again and see if its too long. Only does it going forward not backward.
  12. I just bought 50 dodge coronet. Waspulling to left real hard when braking. I got under to adjust brakes and found vice grips clamping off the flex line on right front. Took them off and adjusted both brakes now right brake locks up. Then releases alright. Took right brake all apart. Had new shoes, rebuilt cylinders, New hoses. Put back together, adjusted and bled still locks up. Anybody have any ideas what to do next?
  13. 51,52,53 look alot alike. Main difference is 53 has more squared off rear fenders. Earlier models have round rear fenders.
  14. I accidently put dishwashing soap in the dishwaser. Like tyo never got it to stop foaming. I would be afraid to put it in a radiator/ LOL
  15. Had a 53 stude coupe in 1963. Drove from SanDiego to Ill and Back then back to Ill. Love that car has to be my favorite of all I've had.
  16. Is this the car from country cassics in Staunton, Ill? If so it sure looks different from when I saw it.
  17. I had a 94 Dakota. Making left turns it made a pop noise, drove me crazy. Then I looked under back seat [ club cab] where jack is stored. Clamp holding jack handle was loose. When making left turn the handle would slide over and hit side of the housing.
  18. That truck looks like it my be pretty nice under the snow. Not a bad price yet.
  19. Mike which pilot house did you buy there? I probably saw it. Forgot to say when they say new paint be aware they take cars to paint shop in East Alton and put a very cheap job on them. Sometimes they are really rough. Be glad to look one over for someone.
  20. I live about 20 miles from there. Been there lots of times $1 to get in walk around take pictures whatever. That blue ply is a beauty in person. was there the day they got it not sure but I think he said it was a Calif car. They have some great cars and some junk beyond use with hefty prices.
  21. Jack the front axel up a little should take off any tension.
  22. I need a 13 tooth if anybody has one.
  23. Got mine at glass shop. worked better tha what I got from one of the mailorder places. I think it was $2 a foot. Go to any glass place that does auto glass and they should have it.
  24. for 7$ for first one sounds good. They will send more for regular price plus shipping and handling. Only thing is I could't find antwhere how much that would be. Got mine from rod and custom sounds like the same thing. Haven't watched it yet.
