  1. I ran 12 volts on my truck for 6 years. Without a resister in line between coil and dist points won't last long. you do need 12 volt coil. Starter and horn never gave any trouble. Use a voltage drop for wipers, heater, etc. Change all bulbs to 12 volt. Used a 1 wire alt belt was not a problem.
  2. Bought a set at a swap meet for $10 Guess I got lucky, put them on radials and they really lay good. Original 50 dodge wheels. They are narrow stripe but looks a lot better than black.
  3. Send me your skirts. If you don't get them back you know they fit a dodge
  4. Just came back from Branson that red 49 convert is back in the showroom on 65
  5. If the fuel bowl was empty it has to be a fuel system problem.
  6. I saw a 40 chebby woody on craigslist that was all there but needed to be restored. $75,000 Don't remember where, saw it yesterday.
  7. With the premix you're buying a half gallon of water.
  8. I had a overhead valve Rambler one time that mesh in the tube was so dirty it blocked the vent. It would always blow the valve cover gasket out. Took a while to figure that one out.
  9. Low range is away and up. High range is away and down.
  10. Those little lights on the front look red in pic. That would be illegal.
  11. I took the radio out of my 50 dodge to a local shop. He called and said it is ready but haven't got there yet. He put in an electronic vibrator don' t know what else but I only owe $90. Not bad I thought.
  12. I got seatcovers from a guy in NY that had an add in cars and parts. He bought the stock of a manufacturer that closed. Haven't seen them yet as I am out of town but they did arrive. $99 for both seats. Not bad.
  13. My 1950 coronet has lug nuts.
  14. I found out if yuo bump the idle up the speed at which it will shift also goes up.
  15. Must have a good solid front end, couldn't see any play in the steering wheel at all.
  16. Use clutch to put in gear shifter up is power gear down is road gear. Put down and atke off about 20mph let gas all the way off. You will hear a click when it shifts to high. When stopping don't use clutch it will shift down then go again like before.
  17. I have one like it. Wish my grill and bumpers looked as good as yours. Runs and drives really great. I like the gyromatic myself. These have 230 engine and pull good.
  18. I got a new radiator for my 50 coronet. Spout came straight5 out and needed to point to side. Took it to radiator shop and he soldered an elbow on the old spout. could have cut the old one off if it stuck out too far.
  19. If anyone is interested I could go check it out.
  20. Portawalls i got are narrow . wanted wides but those were 14in. Gave $10 for a new set because I have new tires and want ww. Maybe some time I'll run across some wider ones.
  21. Went Sat morning was surprised how big it is. That ply with the caddy was nice but should have a mopar. Found a set of portawalls and good tailights for my 50 dodge. A lot of hills and HOT in the pm.
  22. I don't know about the voltage but idle speed must be important. I bumped the timing up just a hair which bumped the idle up a hair. Instead of shifting around 20mph it wouldn't shift til 30 mph. I set the idle down and it was fine. Maybe your idle is just too fast.
  23. 50 Dodge with gyromatic. When I take off before it reaches shifting point I hear ticking like the old days when hydraulic lifters floated out. I know I don't have hydraulic lifters. At idle can barely hear it run, no lifter noise or antthing. I cnnan't get it to make noise in nuetral with clutch in or out and slowly reving engine. Is this a quality of the fluid drive or a problem developing. Runs great shifts great. Anybody have this problem?
  24. Go to www.CalliesKustoms.com Look at thier whitewall paint. I'm thinking about trying it. Has anybody used this. Not a bad price if it works.
  25. My dodge is gyromatic. It only has two gears but will shift up in both.
