  1. I’m looking to purchase the two springs which are located in the turn signal mechanism. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
  2. It’s not a great pic. Once I start cleaning most of the paint will flake off and be done. I’m like you Woodrow I don’t touch or change he anything, I like the originality. I will only get seat covers because I love the original. The headliner I will try to clean but I almost feel bad because the stains I’m sure have stories. The dash tho I feel is too far gone for for a preservation that’s the only reason I ask.
  3. Has anyone painted the dash with it still in the car? Is it a headache to leave I. Or is it better just to pull the entire thing? Also I assume it’s metal under the original paint, has anyone experimented with using a polished or brushed look no paint. Show me some pics give me some ideas. Thanks guys.
  4. I have a 48 D-24 town sedan. This car came with the original turn signal option. Recently it has been getting stuck after I push it up or down. The only way to free it is taking off the cap and playing with it with a screwdriver. I know I could always buy an aftermarket universal unit but I would like to keep the original look. Any advice where to look for a used working unit or someone who refurbishes the existing ones? Thanks.
  5. You guys are correct the vin number is the engine number. I barely see it but after a few treatments of paint thinnner I think I can get a sketch.
  6. So I guess my issue is I have a transferable registration that just has the vin numbering it not serial number. So in the mind of the DMV how can they ever match up that my car is the same one from the registration?
  7. Hi so today I was going to go register my d24 in Pennsylvania and they require a sketching of the vin number. I looked everywhere and I can’t find, I was able to locate some numbers on the block and even have a tag with the serial number but as far as the vin I’m out of luck. Any suggestions? Thanks
  8. So far new exhaust, tune up,radiator, electrical, and some minor improvements. I love the car and don’t think I would ever sell it. My plan is to clean it nicely and keep it all original. I only want to fix as needed. I shocked to see you know Shane as well as the previous owner. If possible I would love to be in contact with the owner before Shane to learn about the cars history, I’m sure it made a lot of people happy over the years. Let me know. Thanks.
  9. I’m surprised to see the Drown name randomly pop up on this forum. I am new to this forum as I recently purchased a 47 town sedan for the son. He is actually a really nice guy so I’m not surprised hearing the father was so well loved in this group. I wish the family well.
  10. Would this be considered a TS “Special” ? Also anyone have any idea about how many of these were built? Thanks.
  11. So I get the differences between the custom and the Delux, they sound like almost the same vehicle. What’s up with the town sedan from what I understand the dash is different color, doors hinged different, no small window, wider doors. It’s a lot different. My question is what are the other differences? Also is the value much greater considering the lower production? Any info would be great. Thanks
