  1. Something like this
  2. I'm doing red spitfire with yellow lightning bolts
  3. Hey Don, did you purposely match your engine to your snap-on ratchet lol. I haven't adjusted valves on one of these engines yet, but it's kinda odd to adjust the #2&5 intake valves twice isn't it?
  4. So I got the freeze plugs in and painted the block
  5. All the measurements look good and machining looks good. Today I replaced all of the valve guides. Tommorow I blow out the coolant passages again and install the new freeze plugs. During the week I spent my lunch on the engine and a little more time on the weekend
  6. Tbr on ainsly Dr on the south side of Syracuse
  7. Tommorow I will recheck the work from the machine shop to be thorough, and order my bearings. They said the crank was in good shape and after a Polish it's only .00025 under and to use standard bearings
  8. Removed the dash and harness today
  9. I give alot of credit for the engineering on this vehicle till I removed the wiring harness. What a pain in the turd cutter
  10. With my new phone it has been much easier to upload pics so I shall keep the updates coming
  11. Engine comes home from the machine shop tomorrow. It's gonna be a good day. I can't wait for assembly.

    Camping

I know all about northern New York, it is beautiful. My true love lately is camping Vermont and new Hampshire. Plans are to relocate to Vermont after 55 yrs of living in this beautiful upstate NY that is way to taxed and political. I like the way things use to be, simple!
  13. I just tore down my transmission to inspect, and I'll tell you all those needle bearings on the countershaft was a job.

    Camping

As the opportunity I am restating a canned ham, or tear drop. I am a diesel mechanic so towing is a knack for me with lots of experiance. I know the engines are bullet proof I needed to check for other week nessus of the drive train. I like the wooden tear drop campers and plan on building my own @ around 1000-1500lbs

    Camping

Well I'm rebuilding my 251 engine and M6 tranny now, and am installing 11 inch front rotors with dual master and power booster while the drive train is out. I don't have a camper yet but I'm thinking slightly bigger than Toms but very similar. How well to the tranny and rears hold up

    Camping

Me and the wife enjoy camping, how well do you think a 49 royal would tow a canned ham classic style r.v. I think it would look so cool going down the road
  17. I am a born full blooded mechanic, and after seeing his garage I see why he made his own tank. Probably like me I enjoy the challah ge like he has mentioned and I always want to put my over priced tools to work. Expecially ones I don't use all the time, it's like Christmas every time I get to use a tool I haven't got my money out of yet.

    Rims

Well I'm gonna sandblast my wheels and use the original hubcaps. Maybe a set of 235-75-15
  19. Engine is on its way to the machine shop
  20. I have never drove the car, so what's an easy way to tell the difference between the 3 speed fluid drive and the m-6. Mine has the two electric solenoid valves on the top passengers side.
  21. It is fluid drive
