  1. "Trico is still in business. They left Buffalo in 2002 and auctioned off the tooling and NOS parts that were still left in their old 'Plant #" Trico in Rochester Hills, Michigan develops wiper blades. It appears that after 2002 they focused on the wiper blades? http://www.tricoproducts.com/Trade/WhatMakesTRICOBetter
  2. Are you going to weld/braze in a plate, inside the manifold, between #3 & #4 placing the plate closest to #4 to avoid the heat riser plate when it's open? I'm hoping to see the step by step installation of this adapter. Thanks DonPal
  3. I had a 33 Plymouth Convertible from 1973 to 2012 with stock flathead 6 and 38 Desoto overdrive. I drove it 110,000 miles frequently at 60 mph (100 kmh) on the flat roads. I also have a 1935 Dodge Pickup (early suicide door model) with a 1959 Plymouth 230 flathead 6 and a T5 Overdrive transmission). It will do 70 mph on the flat roads. I have driven it 95,000 miles since 1990. The 35 Dodge pickup has a front end identical to your 33 Dodge including the engine compartment size. I looked into the long block flathead 6 and it wouldn't fit without cutting the firewall and moving the frame cross member consequently I would recommend that you bore a 230 before going to the long block. The stock compression ratio is a little over 8 and so after you rebuild it expect something slightly higher.......suggest staying in that range to use the gas with octanes around 86 or so. The five speed T5 transmission is an easy install and will give you not only overdrive but also the extra gears to keep the engine in the rpm range for best torque when pulling on hills.
  4. " I'll have a 600959 NOS arm for sale if i get stuck with it. hoping the place i bought it from can help me out, i'll see shortly." 600959 should fit my 33 Plymouth so I am interested in purchasing it if you do get to the selling point. Like this ike this
  5. 4 Edgy heads left in his stock as of a week ago & then Earl stated to me he is redirecting to working on family projects. I picked up a new Aluminum head from him now while readily available hoping for improved appearance, compression, and weight savings also...Earl shipped within a week. He recommended a torque of 60 ft lbs done twice cold rather than the factory 70 ft lbs on a cast iron head. He also suggested an Autolite 303 plug. I'm looking for a suitable torque for that plug to protect the head's alum. threads.
  6. Don Coatney ......thanks for the prompt and helpful lead. I went to the site http://rustyhope.com/site/intakeexhausts/ and it showed a great solution: So I ordered the completely welded up adapter that bolts to the bottom of the heat riser after using a hole saw on the bottom of the manifold. The application will be for a 1959 Plymouth 230 flat head. I poised a question to the RustyHope site......is it best to weld a plate on the inside of the manifold (between the two outlets) or not? Again.....Thanks for your helpful lead.....I'm liking this forum already!!!! Don
  7. Newbe here. This exhaust manifold looks like it might work well with my dual carb offy since the heat provision in the offy might match up with the heat riser of this particular exhaust manifold. Are these manifolds available at this time to fit a 59 230 Plymouth six (23 inch) residing in my 33-35 Plymouth/Dodge? Thanks Don
