Matt Tisdale in KY (Email: matttisdale76@gmail.com ) has taken the plunge and had new stamped tall bedsides reproduced. His primary market is Power Wagons, but the PH era trucks use the same stamping as the 2nd series 1951-56 PW 8 foot bed. I checked with Matt and he can use his 8 foot blanks to make 7 1/2 foot bedsides and he can tig in the wheel well with flat metal to make the 6 1/2 foot bedsides.
These beds are brand new with the correct formed pockets. I've seen the 8 foot ones in person and they are better than new. He can make bedsides for B-1-B-108 to B-4-B-108, B-4-B-116, B-1-C-116 to B-4-C-116, and B-1-D-116 to B-4-D-116. I didn't ask if he could make 9 foot B-1-D-126 to B-4-D-126 bedsides, but I bet he could for a little extra.
He has also made 3rd series PW 8 foot beds, so he can use those blanks to make 7 1/2 foot and 6 1/2 foot bedsides for the 1956 and up Utiline trucks as well.
Matt can provide ready to use bedsides or stamped sides with the pockets as a kit.
His estimate for a pair of 7 1/2 foot sides is $2,750 to $3,250. Please check with him for exact pricing.
