  1. I am of the belief that a person with an engine hoist at home, and a load leveller, would still be better better off to remove the tranny first. Then lift the engine, clutch and FD out together. If this is video of any use to you, here is what I did. 3 speed manual though. No fluid drive. When I put my engine back in, I did remove the rad nose cone. Much easier. I realize you have a later model ‘51 year car. I just thought this might give you some perspective. Also see the tools and safery tips I recommend.

  3. Your new tank most likely has 1/4" NPT threads, that is why your filter will thread into it. You can either use the filter to connect the fuel line to the tank as you suggested or get a 1/4" NPT fitting with a barb, cut the flare fitting off the fuel line and connect the two with a short length of fuel hose. My car uses 5/16" fuel line, verify the OD of the fuel line on your car prior to buying the fitting and hose.

  4. Probably the last wonderful weather week for getting my cars out for their final drive of the season.... This is my 1952 Belvedere I have owned since 1972...

  5. Give Terrell Machine a call. I used them for much of my rebuild. You'll find that they are the least expensive

  6. Nice! Wonderful that you can (and do) get out on such nice cruising days. Our cars are tucked in for the winter, just in time. We had a mild autumn with no real snow until a few days ago, I got them put away the day before we got 8 inches of the white stuff. Well, all but the Beetle were already in the garage, I got to drive the little VW a month longer than usual. A little more Tetris with cars this year due to getting our daughter's Falcon, but thanks to car dollies and the miniscule size of the Bug, I've still got room to operate this winter.

  9. Thanks for the positive words folks. @JohnTeee I have uploaded multiple videos on valve sets I have done over the past few years. I hope you find them useful. One of my goals is to keep things simple. I begin by stripping down a topic so my little, under-utilized brain can grasp whats going on. Lol. Once I feel I have a pretty good understanding, I think, why not make a video for others to learn as I have learned?
