  3. I took my clutch to Southland Clutch today in National City (San Diego). They were very nice and adjusted the clutch release nuts in just ten minutes. I bought this clutch there 40 years ago! Nice to see that they are still in business!

  5. Got some 'LIGHTER' decals printed this week, setting up to do the installation Some photos of the finished product, the font on the NOS lighter is a tad smaller than all the other knobs but at least it is white on black With the stylus I was able to indent the text so it 'feels' right

  6. Does it steady when you turn on the lights? Probably just need to dress the points inthe regulator most likely the ones controlling the field coil circuit. Points files are best as sand paper and Emory cloth can leave minerals behind that will encourage arching. If you have a bit of thin leather, or even some course non corregated cardboard, they will clean them also. Get the car in a low light spot and with it running, check to see if there is any archinggoing on from the wires on the generator. The field coil I'd the thinner of the two terminal studs, it goes to the floor terminal on the regulator. The thicker on is the armature it carries the generator charge output from the gen, to the regulator, then back to the battery. Make sure your connections in those circuits are are clean and tight, and that the insulation is all in good order.

  7. For those that want to try a little more advanced ckt calc’s. To use, decide what you want to solve for, inner circle. Then pick the pie wedge in that quadrant that you have all the values for. Plug the values in, do the math and bob’s your uncle. always wanted to say that. ?

  8. Even easier than running a return line is not having a return line............. ? Start with the simplest installation, add complexity (and failure points) only if proven to be needed.

  11. its a juggling act at times....many times just because I see no sense in some of the current prices and marketing trends. I wish not to step on toes here but I cannot see how a person could continue a practice of tobacco consumption and alcohol given their rising costs. And to drink at a bar...wow, you know that dips into the coffers...of course it is part of the social pattern many enjoy...so as I said, not stepping on toes, just pointing out that instead of that, I buy tools and such which to many is a total waste of time and resources...

  12. Might talk to these guys and see what might work https://newportwipers.com/product/1949-50-dodgedesoto/#wiper-motor I used a home made current regulator to control my 6v wipers on 12v. When on full 12v it looked like the Tasmanian Devil whipping back and forth, with the regulator I built it's much slower, about what low would be if it was a two speed wiper setup. So I guess I'd say go with the buck converter. 20A is probably enough, I dunno what the fuse is rated at for the wiper though that would be a good guide.

  14. I guess if your car was running well you would not be questioning the fuel pump output. Perhaps the car problem is not the electric fuel pumps fault and it is not a fuel issue. If you tested the fuel pump on your car and not on a bench, that may be why your results are different than Carter. Is it possible your fuel line has some restrictions in it?
