  1. When I started my Dodge journey, I was such a purist, I still am, for a RESTORATION. Beyond that it's your vehicle, your choice, even if it's a crap rod, just don't be stupid. Be safe for you and for the others you hurtle thru time and space with on the road.

  2. Got the front patch made and tacked in; I’ve been using the Dakota hood for patch material. Hope to get it finished up and in primer this weekend.

  5. Thursday Nov. 7, 2019: Single digits this morning when I fired up the Meadowbrook to run some errands. Plus we got about 3-4" of snow. As long as the roads aren't salted heavily I will keep driving the car. It is a driver! It ran great and the heater was awesome as usual. I really needed the peaceful cruise. The sun was shining and there's still a lot of fall colors now mixed with the white ground. I wish I could have driven all day long. Grateful to get the run in that I did. About a 25 mile round trip.

  7. they should fit OK. Drums are the same size as the 57 cars that used them. But, caution as 14" tires are getting harder to find and price is more than common sizes, at least in OK. I've actually considered 14s on the front 15s on the rear to help with a 'rake' look. But, I also want disks, so that probably won't happen.

  8. I've found that a few drops of oil on the flaring tool really improves the operation.

  9. Two things to check. First, make sure the oil level is correct. I have seen people fill it on the bench and over fill it. Not good. It should be checked in the car, COLD, via the hole in the floor board. That hole is in the correct spot to fill the thing to the correct level. The second thing is to use the correct fluid. Not ATF not this and not that. Go read my write up and use the correct fluid. One last thing. Some people placed BOLTS in place of the fill plug that turns the fluid coupling into a big flywheel, I carry one such bolt on road trips just in case the coupling fails as one can put the bolt in and drive it like a stick. 10. I was wondering how much snow you got down there, but assumed you'd still have the car out! Glad to see it!

  12. Looks so much better after a bath and rebuild kit. New plunger, balls, gaskets, etc. Missing one of the adjustment screws and the adjustment screw on the base is bent, but otherwise ready to mount. Will it run? I have to wait and see.

  15. You know how it is....gotta fill the tank with That Good Gulf Gasoline on the way back to the house.......price was only 19 cents/gallon...... The back story----several years ago the historical buffs in our town decided to save one of the oldest gas stations in the state of Alabama instead of seeing it demolished. It has been restored and is a favorite site for old car photos.

  19. Here is my '51 pickup at the local Cars & Coffee; it was the only Dodge pick up of any era. Lots of people told me that they often see Ford or Chevy '50's pickups, but, never a Dodge. They were very complimentary.

  20. I don't recall the particulars but I suspect there was some state historical grant money involved. Upkeep is by our local city employees. Our town is big on historical districts, lots of interest in this sort of thing. We still have a for-real downtown square with a 1900 courthouse that is the site of several events and a couple of big car shows. Here is another shot showing the entire building:

  23. I believe the mating exhaust manifold was made by the Custom Manufacturing Company as an option for this tractor. I was looking closer at that and noticed the square feet on the intake as well.
