  1. I've been absent from the forum for quite a while. The car is running fine and we haven't wanted to start the next project and lose the ability to drive it. But my son and I got the Christmas tree picked out today. It's a family tradition to go the day after Thanksgiving. He's not really driving here, only got his permit the day before Thanksgiving. Car is a 1950 P20 Plymouth Special DeLuxe Club Coupe.

  3. I saved the discs from several high mileage units and they showed little wear. I still have them somewhere. Nobody ever asked for one.

  4. Alas, every single warning label out there is there for a reason - because at least one moron ate the silica packet. C'mon, you'uns all know someone, or of someone, who would eat that packet if it weren't for the label. And yet, despite all those labels and warnings we roll our eyes about, people still kill or severely injure themselves on a regular basis doing what the label or the government warnings said not to.

  5. If you look at some of the wires they will be colored and then you will see a stricker mark in the cloth. The stricker mark which is black represents a guage of wire being used. If my memory is correct a single sticker represents 16g, 2 stirckers equal 14g and 3 strikes equal 12 g. But the recomendation is to increase up to 14 g as the minimum and do away with the 16g wire. 6. And don't give up on just one Ace Hardware. I have found items in the Bisbee store that I couldn't find in Sierra Vista, and vice versa.

  8. John, post a photo and dimensions of the nut you're looking for. I would think that Ace has one, I'm surprised at the things they have when you start digging around!

  9. Hello Folks still following this ... motor was installed Sunday, just getting around to uploading pics to this thread. Couple hiccups but nothing major. this motor has the oil pan sump forward ... so had to remove a steering arm temporarily until I put on the original pan ... need to clean up and paint to match. Hoping the pickup doesn't need to move, but this is doable if needed. She went in pretty easy and looking good. I've got the old oil pump that I knocked the drive gear off of to prime her ... need to work out accelerator linkage, recheck torques, fittings and the static timing and get ready to fire it up. stay tuned.
