  1. still on my to do list is painting my truck, but last fall I was asked if it could be used "as is" in a TV series, the black primer and subtle look was exactly what they wanted. Anyways the show is called the Man in the High Castle and last night I watched episode two "Sunrise" and my truck is in the opening credits parked in Cannon City, then later on you can see it driving around in the background of two other scenes.

  2. It lives... First drive outside in over 30 years. Hope the link works. http://vid1287.photobucket.com/albums/a628/Crumpsnr/Fargo%20test%20drive_zpskt4he8hj.mp4 The drive looks fairly sedate but I felt like a milkshake in the cab. Lotta fun though!

  6. Off topic, but California extends nearly 1,000 miles north to south. If it were on the east coast it would span from about Connecticut to Georgia. It also has both the lowest elevation in North America and highest elevation in the "lower 48". So while the coastal areas and, to a lesser extent, the "Central Valley" have very pleasant and moderate weather there are parts of the state that really do have very cold winters and/or very hot summers. About the only weather you won't easily find in California is that horribly uncomfortable muggy heat that you might find in, say, Florida.

  9. Paul I agree the stock lights are too low. Besides the stock type lights I have an extra set mounted higher. I also added a "third" brake lite that mounted at the bottom of my rear window from the inside. It is a 6 volt LED so it is nice and bright. For turn signals and emergency flashers I added seperate amber fixtures. My approach to using this truck as a daily driver was to add features that other drivers are used to seeing.....that way they don't have an excuse. Jeff

  10. Today I painted the back section of the frame with some hammer finish black. The frame was pretty pitted from its previous job as a work truck, so I chose something that had texture to not make the pits so obvious. I still have a bit to do, but this was a great start and will get her back on her wheels soon. Then started on the floor in the cab. I need to mask some of the fire wall off and finish painting along with the removable floor plate. Also started working on the axle housing...

  11. I have a couple 3 ton dodges with these cast spoke wheels. Nothing said in any of the factory dodge shop manuals 1948-1960 on the cast spoke torque patterns. Torque value is dependant on stud size. You have to torque the clamp wedges to the proper torque and work your way back and forth around the rim clamps to evenly tighten the wheel/s.. Pulled this info out of my heavy truck book.... Bob

  12. Did it say anything about checking wheel runout while torqueing the wheel down?

  13. So, I would think that if you get bonded relined shoes you could shorten one of each side to the length of the NOS shoes. A hacksaw would do the job nicely.

  14. Here is a very nice colored drawing of my Fargo, done by a local artist, it took him 20 hours. It is very detailed, even my lack of nice body work on the door, very much impressed. This was a gift from my Wife and 2 kids at home...

  19. Brian; Ahh...."the Rounders" my favorite movie. I love that scene when they cross Red Rock Creek.....it's classic.Complete with a very sexy.............................. 3/4 tonner. There is going to be a sequel to this movie soon. "Rounders Too". Found a great location up in the Cleveland National Forest off of Ortega Hwy. Some new customers of mine have a small horse ranch in what was part of the old Rancho Capistrano. Prefect setting and there is even plenty of barns and horses. I already have the "star" lined up so I guess I will have to let my beard grow out scraggly so I can play the part of Edgar Buchannon. Now if I could just find my old cowboy hat....... Jeff
