  2. I went back to this little junkyard I know of today. 115 degrees this afternoon so the visit was a short one. I was trying to see if they had any overdrive transmissions in their pile. The owner is a Mopar guy, but he seemed to have a knack for diassembling everything. Piles of manifolds and heads from L-head engines and a lot of the ones in the cars were open blocks. I did not find any R10's. There were a couple 3 speeds and this one marked 39 Desoto. Anyone know what this is? It seemed to have a couple solenoids on the side. And the bees that have been guarding the transmission pile Some random cars around the lot

  4. Hi! The red and white twisted wire in picture was the wire that was attached to the negativ side on the orginal setup! Should i remove it from the coil and attach it to the "black" wire from the ignitior? And yes it's still positive ground!

  5. Cheers Bel666, I'll give him a try. Failing that I'm really struggling to get these parts. Does anyone know of an easy axle swap? Or failing that does anyone want to buy a 1950 Wayfarer?

  6. Oh I plan on posting pics once it's out. More for a "in your face Flanders" moment towards the car. I do plan on buying a brass one. I plan to keep this car for a long time and my future self will thank me.

  8. There is no reason to take money for parts that you have to wait on for someone else to fabricate so that you can ship them. YOU then have zero control and in this case the customer gets screwed. Not acceptable. If the Plymouth Doctor wants to be in the sheet metal business then he needs to invest in some inventory.

  9. Stock wheels and hub caps. Beauty rings are 1970's Chevy rally wheel. I like the beauty rings because they hide the wheel next to the tire and all you see is the painted center. Tires came with the car and were in good shape so I never changed them. I bought a old wheel pin striping tool off of ebay and striped the wheels myself. The tool is one of these units that has the serrated wheel and small jar of paint. This is attached to an adjustable length arm that is attached to the center of a hubcap. You jack up car, attach hubcap with tool to wheel, adjust tool length, touch tool to the wheel, spin tire and you have a pinstripe. You can the adjust arm out to create parallel strips. Took about 5 minutes for each wheel. The tool was made in the mid 50"s . Instructions say to go to used car dealer with an assortment of hub caps that have pre drilled center holes so you can attach tool to a hubcap that fits the car and make lots of money.

  10. Here's mine. Old Goodyear blackwalls, 1 can of krylon fusion satin white and mid 50's Oldsmobile cap with aftermarket bullet center. Saving my pennies for real whitewalls when it's finally on the road.

  11. If anyone else wants a set of wire wheels last time I was out at French Lake Auto parts they had 1-2 sets sitting on the wheel rack.
