that triggers back to e-bay that the item is shipped but only on paper at this time....when it enters the mains stream could be later that day or couple days later. The big problems are when you make purchases after their processing hours last day of the week. I am never in that big a hurry with internet buying and if needed sooner will get locally if at possible.2 points

Awhile back, my wife and I made a 250 mile loop. I went west to Anaconda, then farther west to Georgetown Lake. Going north between Philipsburg and Drummond I saw this sedan that the man was fixing for a neighbor. A mile south of Drummond we stopped at Ohrmann Design and met John, nice guy and very talented.2 points

I’m there, 81 in September so best to say some thankyous. (1) Names very difficult but Plymouthy Adams, Tim Estrada, Casper 50, Bob Riding quickly emerge. (2) Quick, unexpected passing of friends and relatives. Lost two, one with a six month illness, the other a 60 day illness. (3) personal note: my health seems to be good, only two pills per day, eye sight is fine, no apparent heart or lung problems. But do have a severe hearing loss, I.e., cannot hear without my hearing aid, and now struggling with leg strength (4) forum gratitude : when I started 12 years ago did not understand intake vs exhaust manifold, , the three essentials for an engine to run, the difference between an engine and a motor, negative/ positive ground, body vs chassis. This forum taught me mechanical skills, personal tolerance, better respect for alternate views, religion, politics, and profanity are toxic, the means and value of internet friendships. Few things have been as enjoyable, rewarding, mental expansion as what I have enjoyed this past decade. So then, my unreserved, heartfelt gratitude to each and all. So i thought i would share a little modification i think may help someone. My 51 fargo, near as i can tell never had a heater, as defroster ducts were non existant. wife found a compact heater on a site called wish,$69. so i proceeded to mount it,and decided to put a water valve on it. Cable operated from a mid 70’s dodge pickup. Next was switching it. As i didnt want to bore another hole in dash, i decided to think outside the box. Cable pulled slightly and fan will come on,and temp can be regulated by opening valve more or less.1 point

Funny thing. . . Back after the "hanging chad" issue there was a big push for changing out the voting machines with new electronic ones. At the time I was employed in Silicon Valley as an embedded systems software engineer so the type of systems they were trying to deploy were something I could consider from a professional point of view. I did some research and decided that they were way less secure and way more easily manipulated than I'd like. So my wife and I switched to what was then called a "permanent absentee ballot" (a.k.a. "vote by mail") as it is actually more secure and more easily audited for issues than the damned electronic voting machines (at least the ones they were deploying in the early 2000s). Apparently every other engineer in Silicon Valley thought the same as I because by the next election the use of mail in ballots went sky high in Santa Clara County and they ended up having entire voting precincts empty and needed to consolidate them. As implemented in Santa Clara County (where I was then) and Orange County (where I am now) there are far more checks and balances and tracing associated with mail in ballots than there ever was with electronic voting machines. I notice that the same people stirring up suspicions about "voting by mail" are also pushing "absentee ballots" for their followers. They are just two different names for the same thing. I notice my neighbor who wears a hat pushing a candidate from the party casting aspersions on voting by mail is worried about that but is not concerned that he is going to be using an absentee ballot. Looking things over the use of a C clip or circlip might be feasible. I think the typical style of clip that uses snap ring pliers likely won't work due to clearance issues. Probably the best chance of success would be to use clips similar to these. A Clips made from round wire might actually be the best choice. I believe the grooves in the pins would be easier to make and the roundness of the wire will help with the concave openings where the pin was originally mushroomed. As mentioned above the pockets in the sector housing are not flat, they are somewhat concave which would work well for a pin that is riveted into place. The next question is whether or not the pin is long enough to have enough protrude from each end so a clip could be installed. Installing one clip before pressing the pin into place will help but it still will be a tight fit on the other end trying to get the clip installed. Another thought I had was the possibility of drilling and tapping the ends of the shaft and using a socket head cap screw with a washer on each end of the shaft to keep it retained. What I don't know as yet is whether there is room inside the housing for the additional length of the SHCS. Maybe a button head would work? Still another thought was the possibility of welding one end of the pin to create a ridge which would mean I would only have to weld the other end once it's pressed into the sector. By the way, the pin is not a slip fit in the sector housing, its a press (or hammer) fit. This complicates things a little because it makes trial and error fits more or less impossible. Needless to say I have lots of measuring still to do. Here's a couple of pictures to show why I needed to replace the worm and sector roller.1 point

I have a '50 Coronet. Front seat cushion just lifts out. It's wedged in pretty good, but it will come out. To put it back in, I usually use a plastic pry bar along the front to ease it back down into the skirt.1 point

The green14 ga. Cig lighter feed wire is hot full time. If it is green with white tracers....That most likely is the sparkling wire.1 point

I am planning to do the same as well, but no hep on your question. Post some pics and let the collective wisdom help you out. I plan to run a serpentine belt setup and may have found a balancer with built in pulley I can have redrilled to fit the bolt on hub. I figure a good machine shop with the balancer and hub in hand could do it more accurately than I can with a reasonable cost involved.1 point

Can't help you, but would sure appreciate pics of your installation to help me plan mine! I am having difficulty locating a crank pulley with 2 (or more) grooves. Mine is a 56 plymouth engine and the crank pulley consists of a hub and bolt on pulley. It is a six bolt pattern, but the holes are not equi-distant. All the mopar pulleys I've found are later and have equally spaced holes, same circle, just not spaced right on that circle. Gonna visit a U-pullit or two and look around. I have a compressor, a couple of condensers and electric fans. Mounts I can make, pulleys, not so much.1 point

is there enough room for a internal C clip to get placed? Machine a slot and make a spacer and retain it with a clip?1 point

I tried a long wire with alligator clips on both ends. One end on the battery ground and the other on the sockets, front and back. I still didn't get the pilot light to flash. Since I am just about to do the LED conversion for the running lights, amonst all the goodies, I had ordered a 6 volt positive ground electronic flasher. So it was a fast and easy swap to give it a try. That did the trick and the pilot light now flashes both right and left.1 point

Great car with wonderful potential. If the engine is at all iffy, I would look for a 25" engine that the car would have had originally. Lots of engines out there. That bit of extra horsepower makes a big difference. You would also get the radiator back to where it should be. I assume you are aware that the transmission in that car is not like a normal tranny and does not need shifting once in gear. There is a low and high range and you use the clutch to select which range. Most of the time, the high range is all that's needed. You can then let the clutch out with your foot on the brake and it will shift like an automatic within that range. You can stop the car and not depress the clutch. Lots of information on this forum regarding that type of transmission.1 point

A fabulous evening cruise with my wife and the dog tonight. The best weather as the nights are slightly cooler and its darker a bit earlier again. We stopped for ice creme and cruised for about one and a half hours at 25-30 mph, outside of town. I was feeling pretty spoiled in our 53 Chrysler tonight. We’re fortunate to have the choice of another old Mopar. Life is good!1 point

Every Friday. It's the Veteran's T.G.I.F... I usualy go with the bike, a Harley Tri-Glide . Anyway this time I took The Plodge, so is my friend with his 41 International Hotrod.. Time fly , September only a few days away,, should be able to do a 1,000 miles (challenge) this year, so far I log 600 Miles with only minors adjustement.1 point

Do as mech50 says first before the blaming the switch... The hole with the screw down inside is the T/S SW to column tube clamp screw . The steering wheel has to be removed to take the plastic cover off the switch. Weak failing flashers can also cause this issue of weak or no indicator on the cluster too Modern replacement 6 volt flashers are Chinese junk and will not work properly!1 point
