  1. I've never written a blog before, but I do have the ability to share what's on my mind to those who will listen. So I guess this is the same thing, only different. To be a blogger, I can see a need to be somewhat entertaining as well as informative. In other words, make sense and don't turn it into a dang lecture about what I think is right or wrong. Yet, to do that, it might be helpful to have an artist's "eye" to create something people can enjoy, without feeling patronized. Lord knows I'm not starting my entries out with opening lines like "Dear Diary" or "You know"....I just can't put that kind of pressure on myself. I will do what I can with "the writer" I might be, "the thinker" inside us all, and the artist I actually am. I can only share how I see things.....really....that's it. I'm not an analyst, reporter, or anchorman. I am the man on the street who never got his interview. So here I am. This is my marker. I'm gonna go think of stuff, try and create an idea, then write it down.......should be fun.

  2. No website, he's probably late 70's and doesn't use computers. He's right on Interstate 70 at Sweet Springs, Missouri. Lance Auto Investment. 660-335-2255. Pretty interesting guy to talk to in person. Once he figures out your an old car guy he's got lots of time to talk and will pull out the pictures of his car lots from years past. Probably since the 60's. always dealt in old cars, hot rods and desirable ones. You'd drool over his stock no matter what picture you pulled out. He had a '48 Windser 4 door that I'd planned to post here, but I didn't see it last time I passed. He'd sold the car several times over the years, the guy he sold it to last time passed away, the widow wanted him to sell it for her. He told me she wanted way too much. $2250 for a running, driving stopping straight steering car with little rust and a recently rebuilt motor. He was kind of surprised that I thought the price wasn't bad. It may be gone to it's new home. If anyone has an interest I can forward pictures and you can call and see if he still has it. I was pretty tempted.

  3. A day?? That's pretty ambitious, Doug. I think at least a few for this side. I got my flanges in so im going to jump to the headers as soon as I have this side buttoned up. Once they are done i'll pull the drivetrain back out and start tackling all the body work. Glenn, sounds like you could have built one of those amphibious cars with that 61!

  4. Day 10 Landed in Sheridan, Wyoming. Total miles to date 3598. Started the day in the Custer state park looking at the animals. Saw quite a few. Next stop was Mt Rushmore then on to Deadwood. Lnk to the photos. Hope this works http://smg.photobucket.com/user/DonCoatney/library/#/user/DonCoatney/library/Billy%20Austin/Day%2010?sort=3&page=1&_suid=1379548726289012410208253756816
