I think it was 6 bucks. This is the sludge from cleaning six rims, grille support bracket and the hood latch. (briefly as not to dissolve the plating)

The solution can be poured out, but I siphon off the clear water after the sediment settles. I let the sludge evaporate and put the powder in the trash.

If you use stainless steel as a sacrificial anode it creates a deadly carcinogen so you can't put it on the lawn like you can with mild steel.
