Allan Faust
When removing the doors.... how do you remove the metal bar between the 2 hinges... you can just see the bar I'm talking about on the left hand side of this pic, just slightly above the lower hinge which is at the bottom left of the picture. james curl
If you can get the pivot pin out, then yes. If not inside of the door is a rubber stop with a steel plate held to the arm with a keeper that will have to be removed to free the arm so that the door can be removed. Allan Faust
Thanx James.... I wasn't sure if it was at the pivot, door or frame that I had to remove something, and couldn't find any screws etc..... Allan
Young Ed
Allan the stuff to try and remove is inside the door. I think its usually troublesome because people seem to grind that rivet off instead. My truck had them both ground off and my car the pass side too. There is an available hardware store item to nicely replace the rivet and then it unscrews if for some reason you need to pull a door again. Allan Faust
Thanx Ed, I'll be looking inside the door on my next run to the car. I didn't want to remove the rivet if I didn't have to.... (especially 4 times..) and if ever I'm not sure about something, I'll ask here since I'm sure its been done here before (in all possible ways) and I'll find the right way to do it here, before doing it myself. Plymouthy Adams
grind the rivet..punch it out...the rubber is on the arm for sure..it is a cushion for the stop...the riveted stop is two peices that act like a blade relay and spring lock into place...this cannot be removed from the door unless your door clip is entirely ripped from your door inner panel..... Allan Faust
Thanx Tim.... I'll check out the whole mechanism... I just want to do what'll cause the least harm to putting it back together.... Allan
