PatS....
I sent away the deposit yesterday on the purchase of this 1947 Fargo two ton...the owner says it runs and drives:eek: Bonus if it really does! Got a question...would this Canadian truck have the 251 or the 265? I'm going to get it in a couple of weeks and will have serial and engine numbers then but I'm just curious now. I notice just a single carb and what looks to be a governor...was hoping for the factory dual setup but happy with it anyway.
Dodgeb4ya
265`s and twin carbs started in the 1953 Dodge "K" series 2-1/2 ton trucks. WH and WG series 1947 trucks used the 251ci. engine. Being a Fargo it still most likely is a 251. Bob
Tony WestOZ
My engine codes on Canadian Fargo`s don`t show engine size but it seems a T119 for a 2 ton truck could be a 228 or 236. In OZ the 2 tons used the 236. Thats provided its a 47 model. Bill Watson if he still watches this site would know.
Dodgeb4ya
WF std cab and WFM cab overs are 1-1/2 tonners and use the 228 or 236ci. engines. WH and WG are the 2 ton models, US models use the 251 engine. Supposedly according to the factory shop manual a 241.5ci. was used too!
