p10plymouth Posted March 22, 2008 Report Share Posted March 22, 2008 I got a NOS 1345788 Brass heater shutoff valve.. for 49-52 and 42-48 with rabbit ears, (replacement) I made sure the stem was free, lubed it with the type of grease plumbers use nice and free. . Installed it and when shut off tiny seapage... I took off the top bracket and plunger and tighten the large 3/4 inch brass hold down screw turned a 1/4 inch or so and reinstall the valve .. no problems ... Just wonder if these are reliable valves.. and if a water lubricate is recommend .. For future reference is there a replacement seal kit for this valve ... Thanks for the info....
