JSabah
In looking for a new dipstick I recall that the previous owner had mentioned that he replaced the engine in my ‘49 Plymouth with an engine that he had from a 1950. Is there a way to lookup the engine number to see what I actually have ( just want to make sure his memory is better than mine ). Here are the numbers that I found - I see that at one time I had the dipstick - but can’t seem to find it .... what other years used the same? Los_Control
Look at the number on the pad above the generator, then look it up here on this site. http://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php
greg g
I believe there were three different set ups and the stick markings were unique to the tube used. Mine has the dipstick going right into the block, there were two dipsticks associated with this style, one with a short handle and one with a longer handle, the one you show with the tube is 49 and later according to my manual. It also says the proper running level is at the add mark. Edited September 19, 2019 by greg g
