Plymouthy Adams
this is your second thread on the 10" clutch upgrade...as to if or if not right depended on intended use of the vehicle..usually the severe service application like taxi use would dictate the use of the 10" over the 9 1/4...whoever you get your plate, disc and T/0 brg. from would have the applicable numbers by asking. dr47
sorry but my question is about the 9 1/4 pressure plate nothing to do with 10" just trying to find if anyone else has run in to this problem .
Plymouthy Adams
earlier you wished to go to 10" clutch so looks like you have given up on that....there are a ton of clutch and pressure plates available through your big box store, e-bay and various other vendors......you may wish to consider getting yours rebuilt at a local shop. Many that service larger truck or farm implements have this capability and of course there are a couple listed on here that rebuild affordably also.....be aware, many specialty shops that cater to the older car also like to dive into your wallet as deep as they can....try your local auto supply house....you may be surprised. DJ194950
The number 1577 gets no response with a web search. 91/4" dia. pressure plates were stock issues in plymouths 1940-1952 at a minimum. But not the same model clutch was used in cars with fluid drive or the many passenger ( 8- I think it was) models The 10" pressure plates were used in taxis and heavy duty applications. Either will work just fine in your car as long as the flywheel is drilled for the size used. DJ
