Stuck flywheel

Doing a main seal on a 1954 218 and I can not drop the damn flywheel. The flywheel is very close to clearing the crank flange but the bellhousing is in the way. Do I need to pull the motor just to clear the space or is there another way. Trans, clutch, oil pan, dust shield and main bearing are all removed up to this point.

There should be two heavy  ' pins '  holding the bell housing to the block . Drive the pins to the rear and you will get more clearance to slide the bell housing to the rear .

Would I need to unbolt the mounts or anything? Can’t find anything in my service Manuel. Thank you for the quick reply.

Did you tap the crank bolts in a small amount just up to the rear main?
