Merle Coggins Posted February 1, 2019 Report Share Posted February 1, 2019 When you go under the vehicle to add oil where is the oiliest, dirtiest, spot on the transmission? The most likely spots for a leak would be the rear output shaft seal, the speedo drive seal, or at the front mounting surface to the bell housing (if the gasket is missing). Hard to diagnose without seeing what's going on, cleaning the tranny and watching for the leak. Not trying to sound like an a hole but it can be from anywhere. Good luck, hope you find it. Young Ed Posted February 2, 2019 Report Share Posted February 2, 2019 I have the same issue with my original 3spd and the overdrive. Can't imagine anything that would cause them both to be leakers other than bad luck. I have noticed mine seems to do the majority of the leaking after driving.
