1941coupe
I'm looking for a glove box check spring for my 41 Plymouth coupe. Any leads would be great. I could make one but the original broke some time ago. Thanks. It's part number 935762
Andydodge
I dunno if this helps at all but I never knew my 40 Dodge had a glove box door spring till it was mentioned on this forum a few yrs ago & I realised that was why it was a PITA to open the glove box lid..........so I made one using a piece of spring steel that was a brake line to chassis clamp, trimed it and drilled a hole in it and it fitted between the glove box door lid and the hinge/dash screw......works perfectly as when you push the button the lid pops open.........she who must be obeyed is finally happy..........lol..........see pics.........if this isn't what you need then disregard my reply...............lol.............I had a look in my 36-42 Parts manual but its not real clear...................andyd
chrysler1941
Pre-war Chrysler use another # but here's a picture of it. Andydodge's suggestion is great.
RNR1957NYer
Wow - the answer to the question I hadn't asked....yet! Now I'll be able to retrieve my registration without the Law reaching for his side arm as I fumble around under the dash! Thanks guys! 1941coupe
Good solution to a pain in the arse glove box door. The original factory set up on my glove box was formed music wire, but I cannot remember how it was placed. The hinges on my door are of the sector arm type and not visible, they are on the outsides of the box hidden behind the dash. I think I will try some springy rubber bumpers. Thanks.
