My Saturday Blasphemous Acts

Recommended Posts

Hey all, installed a hi perf race SBC and Racing glide trans into a 77 Pinto wagon.

This engine dynoed 600 hp car runs high 10s to low 11s.

It was quite easy as everything was taken put not long ago. Car has full cage, nitrous, beefy frame alts and suspension.

It will be racing at Fargo ND in 2 weeks.

Car belongs to Wifes son.

Next blasphemous act was trying to shoe horn my 225 slant 6 into a beater 1979 RX7.

I knew ahead of time the current oil pan needs to be swapped to a rear sump.

It will fit and nice and snug.

What a nive piece of engineering as far as frame and construction on this car.

Not sure where this is going yet.

There a fair bit of room under these hoods.

Length and width, height at nose is gonna be very tight...

Yes 4 spd A833 OD it has 3.90 gears already.

2 bbl and headers maybe a cam and head work. Or lower turbo boost.

All pipe dreams right now.

UPDATE.

I have a 225 slant 6 and A833 out of a California 1971 Cuda, this was not super difficult, but required some firewall cutting, all is welded back in and engine and trans mounted in.

Drivehsaft, clutch and hydraulic throwout , is the next frontier, not sure how just yet.

I am not overly enthused by this project, but will follow through, but Heart is not quite in it, as it should...
