I can not get hold of my parts book at the moment but my sloppy garage chap lost a part. Not essential, but needed.

 

What is this "cross bar?" called that "connects" the oil bath filter to the engine block?

Yes it is the bracket that links the oil bath filter to the engine block simply for fastening reasons.

Clamp      EDIT: with thumb screw     EDIT 2: I thought you meant the thing at the bottom of the air cleaner, and not the thing at the bottom in the previous photo?

Air cleaner support brackets reproduced to exact original for '39-54 Ply,
Dod (cars, trucks), DeS, most Chrys. Steady brackets for most heavy duty oil
bath type air cleaners. Specify year when ordering $45 (check or M.O.) ppd.

Thomba......you are a clever lad, why don't you make the bracket, just mount the air cleaner on the carby and use a piece of steel strap about 1' wide by 3/16th thick and just drill a couple of holes................andyd
