TylerB46
Hey guys I’m working on a 46 dodge wc 1/2 ton truck. There’s a little half circle shim that goes under the clutch pedal where it slides onto the clutch fork. I’m having a time trying to put that shim back in, so really I just wanted to ask if it’s really needed and what’s it’s purpose?
Jerry Roberts
There is a half-moon key that locks the pedal arm to the shaft . You for sure need it in place as it locks the arm in place on the shaft . You don't want to rely on just the clamping force of the locking bolt . I have seen some half-moon key that have had slight metal removed to fit . Yes it is really needed .

Jerry Roberts
A good hardware store will sell half-moon keys if you loose or take too much metal off from that one . They come in different sizes . Edited June 2, 2018 by Jerry Roberts

Don Coatney
Correct name for that key is a woodruff key so when you go to the hardware store they will know what you are looking for.
