Dash Gauges

:confused:I need to check the status of my dash wiring on a 49 Chrysler Windsor, I removed the screws pulled the gauge assembly out and with some difficulty unscrewed the speedo which gave me a bit more room. I also noticed that the TEMP and OIL  seem to be of the Mech type which will pose a problem getting the instrument panel out. If anyone has had the experience of getting the cluster out I would be forever grateful.

Regards

Jim

The oil line should be able to disconnect from the back of of the opressure gauge with no problems. However, the line the the temp gauge contains a fluid(ether I think) and should not be broken or disconnected from the gauge.  To remove the gauge you need to remove the large nut holding the bulb into the left rear corner of the head, then pull it the tube and gauge back through the dash.
