weird connector(?) what is it for...?

Has anybody got a clue what this "connector" is for... this is a type we have never seen or is it some kind of fuse and what isit securing then...

It is situated at the drivers side close to the signal relais.. the wire disapears into the cable bundle.

any help is highly appreciated...

 Some  allow two wires to simply connect to one but yours looks like the connectors used for signals which were an add on accessory.  Chances are good you will find more in the trunk

for the tail and stop lights.

That's a typical 1949 and later MoPar wire connector. As mentioned found at the rear tail lights and turn signals,  center mounted trunk license/Brake light etc.

OK thanks, so I guess I can just connect the wires or replace the (broken) connector. I tought it was some kind of weird fuse... grtz

I save all the old Mopar connectors....
